Introducing: Patek Philippe Calatrava 24-Hour Alarm—Ref. 5322G (Live Photos)

Patek Philippe has always treated the alarm complication with the same seriousness it applies to repeaters and perpetual calendars. This position is reinforced at Watches and Wonders Geneva 2026 with the introduction of the new Calatrava 24-hour Alarm ref. 5322G, a new Grand Complication built around a 24-hour alarm that chimes via a single hammer striking a classic gong. It is the only water-resistant chiming watch Patek Philippe makes, and the 5322G marks the alarm's most refined expression to date. The watch is available in a textured lacquered green with black-gradient rim dial, or a lacquered navy blue dial with a black-gradient rim—live photos of this watch here.

Things to Know About the Watch

Equipped with a 41 mm 18K white gold case that takes its identity from the hobnail guilloché pattern applied to the entire circumference of the caseband and the pusher, with skeletonized lugs—a first for the brand—that keep the profile from reading as heavy despite the 12.22 mm thickness.

The 5322G-001 is cloaked in a textured, lacquered navy-blue dial with a black-gradient rim; applied white-gold numerals and syringe-shaped hands feature a luminescent coating; the date is displayed in a subdial at 6 o'clock, and a double aperture at 12 o’clock displays the time that the alarm is set for, with a small round aperture underneath display whether it is on or off.

The alarm is displayed digitally in the double aperture at 12 o’clock with hours and minutes in 15-minute increments, with dedicated apertures for alarm on/off status and day/night indication. It comes fitted on a navy blue composite fabric-pattern strap with cream stitching and a beige nubuck calfskin as a second strap, both secured by a white gold triple-blade fold-over clasp. A green lacquered dial variant, the 5322G-010, is offered simultaneously on a green patinated square-scale alligator strap.

The Movement

The Calatrava 24-hour Alarm is powered by the calibre AL 30-660 S C. This automatic self-winding movement is composed of 524 parts and 52 jewels, reflecting the complexity of integrating a chiming alarm with date and sweep seconds into a water-resistant case. The movement is fitted with the usual 21K gold central rotor, and while beating at a frequency of 28,800 vph, it delivers 42 to 52 hours of power reserve. Four patents cover the alarm mechanism.

On the Wrist & Price

The 5322G is a different kind of grand complication, less about its looks and more about what happens when you engage the pusher to activate the alarm. The hobnail caseband gives it a tactile identity distinct from anything else in the current collection, and the navy blue dial reads with an evening-register depth that makes the alarm function feel less utilitarian than it might on paper. A new reference that makes a strong case for the alarm as a legitimate collector complication. An incredible-looking watch that will for sure become an icon in Patek Philippe’s portfolio.
