News: Presenting the Urwerk UR-100V T-Rex. A 22-Piece Limited Edition.

T-Rex is the name given to the latest iteration of Urwerk’s UR-100 collection. It carries both Urwerk’s genome in its satellite hours and that of its namesake in the primal texture of its reinforced hide of bronze. The UR-100V T-Rex is decidedly a creature you’ll want to tame. But wouldn’t want to stroke the eight-ton, 12-foot high Tyrannosaurus rex. In addition to its massive jaws equipped with 60 dagger-like teeth, it has a hide like a rasp. Best leave the creature to your imagination.

News: Presenting the Urwerk EMC Timehunter Stormtrooper

The new Urwerk EMC Timehunter White Ceramic aka Stormtrooper was an easy nickname to choose, from Martin and Felix’s love of sci-fi and in particular, Star Wars. The universe that George Lucas built have heavily influenced the design of Urwerk timepieces over the years. The signature armor of the Stormtrooper was an instant icon ever since it blasted onto the scene in 1977. Designed for Lucas by Ralph McQuarrie, a conceptual artist who also worked on Battle Starship Galactica and E.T.

News: Urwerk UR-100 Gold Edition. The First Piece to be Auctioned to Fight COVID-19.

This new creation is the fourth episode in the UR-100 saga, recounting the adventures of an atypical time instrument written, produced, and directed by Urwerk. The UR-100 Gold Edition pushes the boundaries of technology, design, indications, and functionality. First and foremost, the UR-100 Gold Edition is very slim for a satellite-geared watch with angular contours; it’s an elongated octagon with three notched sides. The form uses subtle asymmetry, taking clues from Han Solo’s Millennium Falcon.

Rare Bird: Urwerk UR-110 Eastwood with an Ebony Case and Limited to 5 Pieces

Spotting a Urwerk timepiece in the wild is already a rarity; therefore, running into a Urwerk UR-110 Eastwood with an ebony top case is even rarer. The UR-110 continues to be Urwerk’s radical tradition of telling the time using orbiting satellite complications. In the UR-110, time is always shown on the right side of the watch. In the case of the Urwerk Eastwood, the case measuring 47 mm x 51 mm x 16 mm is made out of ebony precious wood. Unconventional in terms of time telling but also very unconventional in terms of the use of precious wood for the top part of the case. This is the final timepiece in the UR-110 series.

News: Presenting the Urwerk UR-100 Space Time. Two 25-piece Limited Editions.

The Urwerk UR-100 was inspired by a 19th century pendulum clock —a present to Felix Baumgartner from his father Geri, a now-retired renowned clock restorer— made by Gustave Sandoz for the 1893 World’s Fair in Chicago. The regulator-style dial does not show time. Instead it shows the distance of the Earth’s rotation at the equator. The extra-long pendulum beats every 2.16 seconds, making every oscillation one kilometer. The main dial has a scale of 10,000 kilometers, shown in units of 100 kilometers, so that each tick —half oscillation— indicates 500 meters traveled on the Earth’s surface—at the equator. The top subdial —10 km— is divided into 10 units, while the lower subdial showing a total of 40,000 km —approximately the equatorial circumference of the Earth— is divided into increments of 1,000 km.
