Insider: Panerai Radiomir Tourbillon GMT Bronzo PAM01284. The Crown Jewel of all Radiomirs.

The Panerai Radiomir Tourbillon GMT Bronzo PAM01284 marks a second milestone as the second bronze case —first one was the PAM0760— for the Radiomir collection and a stunning timepiece, to say the least. Panerai Radiomir watches, with their distinguished and iconic design, are an epitome of elegance, robustness, and a historical Paneristi look. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, these timepieces embody the brand's rich heritage rooted in Italian naval history.

Experience: Casa Panerai New York. The Largest Panerai Global Flagship.

Located on the northeast corner of 63rd street and Madison Avenue in New York City, yesterday afternoon we had the pleasure of attending the opening of the ‘Casa Panerai New York’, the brand’s largest global flagship. The opening event kicked off with an ‘Aperitivo in Piazza’ —the Italian tradition of having a little something before heading out to dinner at a city square or neighborhood locale— right on the sidewalk adjacent to the new boutique. Mini pizzas baked by pizzaioli, decadent gelato, limonata, chinotto, a espresso bar, passed piccoli morsi —small bites— and a flower stand transported us to the hustling streets of Milan or perhaps Rome.

W&W 2023: Panerai Radiomir Annual Calendar PAM1363 and PAM1432 (Live Pics)

A long-awaited complication for Panerai and one of our favorite releases from the brand during Watches & Wonders 2023. The new Panerai Radiomir Annual Calendar is the very first annual calendar for the brand and it comes in two different metals. The first one is in Goldtech under reference PAM1363 sporting a gorgeous gradient sun-brushed blue dial and the other one is in a highly exclusive limited edition in Platinumtech under reference PAM1432 with a gradient sun-brushed burgundy dial.

W&W 2023: Panerai Radiomir California 'Deep Green' PAM1349 (Live Pics)

One of the hottest releases at Watches & Wonders this year is the new Panerai Radiomir California PAM1349. Not only for the first time a Radiomir historical model gets released in a 45 mm case, but this is also the first time that Panerai is using a new finish called Brunito —burnished in Italian— eSteel. This new patinated look is quite different from the ‘patina steel’ utilized on the Panerai Radiomir 8 Days PAM 992.

Insider: Panerai Submersible GMT Navy SEALs PAM01323. A 500-Piece Limited Edition.

A little over a month ago, Panerai launched three new watches in partnership with the U.S. Navy SEALs and the elite military force inspired three watches within the Submersible collection. Introducing: Panerai Luminor BiTempo. Two New Dual Time Zone Watches PAM01360 & PAM01361.

The new Panerai Luminor BiTempo watches affirm the brand’s Italian DNA with new design features. The new PAM01360 and PAM 01361 are presented in 44 mm stainless steel cases and with black and blue dials respectively. The spirit that defines Panerai watches and the people who wear them is not confined to a specific pursuit or destination; instead, it is a way of being that extends to any endeavor, a passionate engagement with the world that reaches beyond a single point on a map or location.

From the Editor: Will Panerai Ever Be, What it Once Was?

Long gone are the days of the sturdy and historical legendary-looking Panerai watches that I originally fell in love with, but regardless, I still have much appreciation for the brand. I really hope that sooner rather than later, Panerai takes a slight turn and brings back more of the historical aurae of the legendary watches like the Bronzo PAM507 or the L’Egiziano PAM341.

Introducing: Panerai Luminor Luna Rossa PAM1342

Produced in a special edition of 1,500 pieces, the new Panerai Luminor Luna Rossa PAM1342 exhibits a bracingly fresh character, offering a modern interpretation of nautical style; the unexpected palette of white, gray, and red is the foundation for the versatile and understated watch.

Introducing: Panerai Submersible QuarantaQuattro eSteel PAM 1287, PAM 1288 and PAM 1289

Panerai presents three new watches in eSteel with colorful dials and bezels. All cased in 44 mm diameter cases in eSteel —proprietary Panerai recycled steel alloy—, the new PAM 1287 Verde Smeraldo —green very similar to a Rolex Hulk—, PAM 1288 Grigio Roccia —gradient grey— and PAM 1289 Blu Profundo —blue— are really gorgeous.

Experience: Montecristo Línea 1935 Dumas. A Bold and Beautiful Cigar Like a Panerai Radiomir 1940 PAM 662.

The year 1935 marks a big milestone for Panerai as they landed their first contract to supply the Italian Navy with professional diving instruments, but it also does for the world of cigars, as the iconic Montecristo Cuban cigar brand was founded that year. The Montecristo Línea 1935 celebrates the founding of Montecristo and it was released last year as a ‘totally by hand long filler’ line of cigars. The Línea 1935 cigars are available in three different vitolas and packaged in a very distinct presentation box unlike other Habanos. The beautiful box is dark brown matte Carmelite lacquer finished and uniquely shaped with beveled edges and the traditional fleur-de-lis that has distinguished the Montecristo brand since its founding.

Rare Bird: Panerai Luminor 1950 GMT PAM320 on a Second-Generation Stainless Steel Bracelet. The Best Combo in our Paneristi Hearts.

Here at WCL, we have a sweet spot for Panerai watches and while we typically prefer those that are strongly inspired by the most legendary historical Panerai watches, there are certain more modern interpretations —that even when their design sways away from the historical DNA of Panerai—that we also find very interesting. While the Panerai bracelet is a thing of the present that was designed in the modern era —none of the Panerai historical timepieces were ever fitted with a bracelet—, we absolutely love the look of it and we see it as the most ‘underappreciated’ option that can make any 44 mm Panerai look simply out of this world.

Introducing: Panerai Submersible Chrono Flyback Mike Horn Edition PAM1291

Through single-minded dedication to each of his historic endeavors —from trekking to the North Pole in the unremitting darkness of winter to summiting some of the world’s highest and most challenging peaks without supplemental oxygen— Mike Horn secured a place among the world’s greatest living explorers. Unwavering focus on reaching heights is a trait Panerai shares with the adventurer and environmental activist.

Introducing: Panerai Luminor Carbotech Blu Notte PAM 1664

The arrival of the Luminor Marina Carbotech Blu Notte stands as another milestone for Panerai. It is the first time that two signature elements of the Panerai design are present in the same watch, a Carbotech case and a Blu Notte dial. The pairing unites the resistance of Carbotech and the subtle radiance of the sun-brushed blue dial.

Introducing: Panerai Radiomir Eilean PAM1243. Two Iconic 1936 Designs.

Both the original Radiomir and Eilean, the yacht that became a part of Panerai history, were created in 1936. The Radiomir Eilean PAM1243 honors the underlying bond between these two legends. The Panerai Radiomir Eilean couples the hallmark features of the historic Radiomir collection and the aesthetic lineage of Eilean.
