Introducing: A. Lange & Söhne Saxonia Annual Calendar—Complexity Understated at 36 mm

Not every important watch announces itself loudly. The Saxonia Annual Calendar, new for Watches and Wonders Geneva 2026, makes its case through proportion, legibility, and the quiet confidence of a 36 mm case that carries an annual calendar, moon phase, and outsize date without appearing to break a sweat.

Things to Know About the Watch

The dial layout prioritizes clarity above all: outsize date at 12, day-of-week subdial at 9, month subdial at 3, subsidiary seconds and moon phase at 6. The annual calendar mechanism automatically accounts for months of 30 and 31 days, requiring only a single manual correction annually—from the last day of February to the first of March. All indications can be advanced collectively via a pusher at 10 o'clock, or individually through dedicated correctors.

The moon-phase display uses a deep-blue coated gold lunar disc with 428 stars replicating the Milky Way; accuracy is one day's deviation per 122.6 years. Dial finishing involves two intensities of azurage—finer on the circumferential rings, more pronounced on the inner subdial surfaces—creating a three-dimensional depth that rewards close attention. Two references are offered: white gold with an argenté dial, and pink gold with a grey dial. Both wear on hand-stitched reddish-brown alligator straps with matching gold prong buckles. At 36mm diameter and 9.8mm thick, it slips under a shirt cuff with ease.

The Movement

Calibre L207.1 is a new self-winding manufacture movement, assembled twice and finished to the full Lange standard. The 30.4mm, 5.7mm-tall movement runs at 21,600 vph across 491 components, with a 950 platinum centrifugal mass on the unidirectional rotor and a 60-hour power reserve. The hand-engraved balance cock, screwed gold chatons, and Saxon finishing traditions visible through the sapphire caseback provide the expected counterpoint to the restrained dial face.
