News: Wei Koh Named President of the GPHG Jury for 2026

The Foundation of the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève has appointed Wei Koh—founder of Revolution and The Rake magazines—as President of its Jury for the 2026 edition, succeeding Nick Foulkes, who held the position from 2021 through 2025.

Koh is among the most prominent editorial voices in contemporary watchmaking. Beyond his publishing work, he is the creator, host, and executive producer of Man of the Hour, the first episodic television series dedicated to the watch industry. His career arc—spanning military service in Singapore, a stint in Hollywood, and an eventual landing in horological media—has given him a uniquely international and cross-disciplinary vantage point on the industry.

In a statement, Koh described the appointment as "one of the greatest honours of my life," expressing gratitude to Foulkes, GPHG President Raymond Loretan, and Director Carine Maillard, while signaling ambitions to enhance the Jury's evolution and the initiative's global visibility. For his part, Loretan cited Koh's "independent perspective" and international experience as qualities that position him to strengthen the GPHG's role as a global benchmark for horological excellence.

The GPHG Jury convenes behind closed doors in the days leading up to the awards ceremony to physically evaluate each of the 90 timepieces nominated by the GPHG Academy. Voting is conducted by secret ballot under notarial supervision. The Jury is made up of 30 people, all members of the GPHG Academy, half of whom are drawn from the Academy and the other half chosen jointly by the president of the Jury and the GPHG, as stipulated in the rules. Academy members—a body of roughly 1,050 industry experts—digitally in parallel, with their collective input accounting for one-third of the final result.

The full composition of the 2026 Jury will be announced in mid-September. The awards ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, November 7, at the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices in Geneva.
