Introducing: Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Chronographe Mystérieux Steel—The Disappearing Hands (Live Photos)

Parmigiani Fleurier has spent the last four years building a distinct architecture of restraint. The Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante in 2022 and the Minute Rattrapante in 2023 each introduced a complication that retracted when not in use. For the brand's 30th anniversary at Watches and Wonders Geneva 2026, the third chapter arrives: the Tonda PF Chronographe Mystérieux, a world première that reimagines the chronograph as something that earns its presence only on demand by pressing the pusher located at 8 o’clock. This pusher activates the chrono, making the chronograph’s rose gold hands visible, stops the chrono, and resets it.

Things to Know About the Watch

Equipped with a 40 mm stainless steel case, the watch, at rest, is indistinguishable from a three-hand Tonda PF. A Mineral Blue Grain d'Orge guilloché dial, rose gold delta hands, and the signature platinum 950 knurled bezel. Press the monopusher integrated into the case at 8 o'clock and five coaxial hands simultaneously reorganize: the rhodium chronograph hands fly back to 12 and begin counting, while the rose gold civil-time hands remain running beneath them. A second press stops the count; a third returns everything to rest. The chronograph disappears as cleanly as it appeared.

The Movement

The PF053 is an entirely new manufacture calibre built from the ground up for this complication. Its triple-clutch architecture—one vertical and two horizontal clutches—manages the superimposition and transformation of hand functions with 362 components and 41 jewels. Beating at 28,800 vph, the movement provides autonomy with a 60-hour power reserve. The 22K rose gold skeletonized rotor and open-worked satin-finished bridges are visible through the sapphire case back.

On the Wrist & Price

The integrated steel bracelet and familiar 40 mm case size keep the Chonographe Mystérieux proportionally consistent with the Tonda PF family. For collectors who want a high complication with a clean daily face, the case for it is near-complete. A world première in both technical architecture and design philosophy, the Chronographe Mystérieux is Parmigiani's most ambitious single statement since the collection launched. Also available in platinum with a sandblasted platinum dial.
