Chopard's Fleurier Manufacture marks its 30th anniversary at Watches and Wonders Geneva 2026 with perhaps its most intimate statement: an eight-piece limited edition that unites a jumping-hour complication with a dial assembled from hand-split rye straw. The L.U.C Quattro Spirit 25 Straw Marquetry is presented in 18K ethical yellow gold with a natural straw marquetry dial.
Things to Know About the Watch
The 40 mm case in 18K ethical yellow gold measures 10.30 mm in thickness, with a vertically satin-brushed caseband and polished bezel and caseback. The dial is built on an ethical-gold base and decorated entirely in-house using straw marquetry. First, rye straw sourced from Burgundy is individually split with a fingernail, then flattened, and finally scalpel-cut into hexagons and assembled by hand into a honeycomb motif — the symbolic emblem of the L.U.C collection.
The natural, undyed straw variant for the yellow gold case reads as warm amber; it has been neither tinted nor altered. The display is stripped to essentials: a central Dauphine fusée minute hand and a jumping-hour aperture at 6 o'clock, positioned so the minute hand never obscures the instantaneous hour change.
The Movement
Powering this watch is the manual-wound L.U.C 98.06-L calibre. This movement, which provides an 8-day power reserve, is based on the engine behind Chopard's Quattro technology, with four stacked, series-coupled mainspring barrels delivering nearly 2 meters of mainspring travel and a genuine 192-hour power reserve with an indicator on the movement side. The flatter torque curve this architecture produces keeps the balance amplitude stable throughout the run. A Phillips terminal curve balance spring and swan's-neck regulator enable precise fine adjustment. The movement carries the Poinçon de Genève.
On the Wrist & Price
The L.U.C Quattro Spirit 25 Straw Marquetry Edition is serious watchmaking delivered with artisanal restraint. Limited to eight pieces, two materials, and one very specific audience. The marquetry work on the dial is unlike anything we’ve ever seen, and the watch is better appreciated in person.
