Straight from the SIHH 2016 Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie Genève we bring you the fourth out of the five new Vacheron Constantin Overseas models just released by this manufacture. Nestled in a 41 mm diameter case in stainless steel or in 18K pink gold, the new Overseas Date ref. 4500V/110A-B128 is available either with a sunburst blue or silver-toned dial, swept over by white gold hands and hour markers with luminescent material. Featuring only a framed date aperture at 3 o'clock, this new Vacheron Constantin Overseas Date is extremely elegant, yet quite sporty at the same time. The Vacheron Constantin '222' —a 37 mm watch designed by Jorg Hysek Sr. in 1977 to celebrate the 222nd anniversary of the manufacture and to compete against the Patek Philippe Nautilus and the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak— definitely comes to mind when looking at this new Overseas Date.
Anti-magnetic thanks to the soft iron ring surrounding the new automatic calibre 5100and water resistant to 150 meters, this model lends itself to all occasions with its three interchangeable bracelet/straps: a stainless steel bracelet with an easy-fit sizing system; as well as two straps in rubber and leather respectively. The latter are supplied with an equally adjustable stainless steel folding clasp. The pink gold version is fitted with a leather strap and comes with a second rubber strap as well as an interchangeable pink gold folding clasp. The new calibre 5100 entirely designed, developed and crafted by Vacheron Constantin is composed of 172 parts and beats at a frequency of 28,800 vph and is endowed with a comfortable more than 60-hour power reserve guaranteed by its twin barrels. The transparent screwed-down caseback reveals the precious 22K gold oscillating weight adorned with a wind rose.
While we didn't have enough time to take a wrist shot of this new watch, we can tell you that it wears slightly smaller than its actual size and more like a 39-40 mm watch on a 7.25 inch wrist.
Sticker Price $19,900 USD for stainless steel and $35,600 for 18K rose gold. For more info on Vacheron Constantin click here.
