Phillips, in Association with Bacs & Russo and Vacheron Constantin, has joined forces to create the world's first-ever Concours d'Élégance exclusively for timepieces. This groundbreaking collaboration combines Phillips' auction expertise with Vacheron Constantin's horological heritage to celebrate the artistry and cultural significance of fine watchmaking. The inaugural event will take place in Geneva in November 2026, honoring the collectors and enthusiasts who preserve these horological treasures.
"Inspired by my lifelong passion for classic motorcar concours events, I've always envisioned applying this prestigious format to fine watchmaking," explained Aurel Bacs, Senior Consultant at Phillips in Association with Bacs & Russo. "Vacheron Constantin's enthusiastic support makes this historic first possible, and I anticipate remarkable discoveries and meaningful dialogue about the exceptional timepieces we'll see."
The competition will showcase exceptional Vacheron Constantin wristwatches and pocket watches manufactured through 1999, evaluating entries across multiple categories based on authenticity, condition, provenance, and design excellence.
A distinguished international panel of experts, collectors, and industry leaders will judge the competition. Aurel Bacs and Christian Selmoni, Vacheron Constantin's Style & Heritage Director, will co-chair the jury, underscoring their shared dedication to preserving horological legacy and celebrating collector passion.
"This partnership with Phillips represents a perfect alignment with our values," stated Christian Selmoni. "As we continue beyond our 270th anniversary milestone, this concours creates another meaningful way to recognize the dedicated collectors who safeguard Vacheron Constantin's artistic legacy. The event reflects our commitment to horological excellence while strengthening bonds within passionate communities like the Hour Club."
Complete entry guidelines, competition rules, and jury composition will be announced in early 2026, with winners revealed at the November 2026 Geneva event.
