Equipped with a 42 mm case in 18K white gold, this new watch is available either with a Blue-Gray dial or a Lacquered Khaki dial.

In a newly redesigned pink gold case, a black dial —paying homage to the black dials of the original 1931 Reverso— creates a dramatic contrast to the polished metal; a burgundy lacquer dial complements the glowing richness of pink gold; and a silver dial —closely recalling the silver dial of the first-generation Reverso— is a discreetly elegant foil for the rich golden glow of the metal.

A traditional set of complications with a modern watchmaking approach is what the new Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Tourbillon Retrograde Date Openface brings to the table. In a nutshell, modernity meets traditional watchmaking. With its open-worked dial this new watch combines a tourbillon and a retrograde date allowing a perfect view of the architecture of the calibre 2162 R31 with its slate grey shade achieved by an NAC surface treatment.

After the success of the first iteration of the Hermès H08 designed in 2021 by Philippe Delhotal, now comes the H08 chronograph. Sculpted from a block of multilayered composite, the cushion-shaped 41 mm case of the Hermès H08 Chronograph is made of a high-performance material composed of carbon fiber and coated with graphene powder. The bezel is made of ceramic with a sunburst satin-brushed finish and the crown in PVD titanium.

Honoring the brand’s first diving watch, Tudor just released the Black Bay 54 ref. M79000N-0001 with a 37 mm case that surprisingly wears slightly larger than its actual size thanks to the low profile of the case. The watch comes with a vintage aura that no other modern Tudor has and this watch feels like a big crown no crown guards Sub. The black dial with its gilt imprints looks vintage from every angle.

At Watches & Wonders 2023, Ulysse Nardin has released another iteration of the legend named Freak ONE. The Freak ONE is cased in a 44 mm black DLC-coated titanium case with satin finish and equipped with a 5N rose gold bezel, and a black titanium case back with sapphire display. The watch is delivered on a black rubber ‘ballistic’ textured strap equipped with a black DLC-coated titanium deployant buckle.

Inspired by the Vacheron Constantin retrograde models from the 1920s and 1930s, now comes the new Patrimony Retrograde Day-Date Salmon dial in an exquisite platinum case measuring 42.5 mm in diameter. The salmon-colored dial features a sunburst pattern and beneath the 12 o'clock hour marker sits a faceted Maltese cross in relief crafted in 18K 5N pink gold with sandblasted and polished facets. The two retrograde indications —day and date— are indicated by blued steel hands, while the hours and minutes are displayed by 18K white gold hands.

As we are five days away from Watches & Wonders 2023, I’d like to talk about one of the ultimate showstoppers at last year’s edition of Watches & Wonders. As I wonder what will Patek Philippe present this year, I can’t stop thinking about the Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar Chronograph ref. 5270 in platinum with green lacquered dial. Without a doubt, the reference 5270P-014 is an absolute grail in my book and here’s why.

The Vacheron Constantin Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin reference 4300V was first released in an all-gold version including a matching bracelet during Watches & Wonders 2020 in the midst of the pandemic and only in 18K pink gold. Later, it made its appearance in 18K white gold becoming one of the most understated and under-the-radar luxury watches from Vacheron Constantin that I personally lust for and love.
