While this watch didn't get much press coverage a few weeks ago since the AP Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar in black ceramic —reviewed by us here— took the center stage in Geneva, we feel that is about time that we present you our hands-on review of it.

The partnership between Panerai and the America’s Cup is an example of this shared awareness, of this perfect balance between the past and the future. As part of this new partnership, Panerai released five new limited edition watches at the SIHH 2017 just a few weeks ago. While three of the watches are specific to the Oracle Team USA, one is generic to the 35th America's Cup, and the other supports the SoftBank Team Japan.

One of the most impressive timepieces we've ever reviewed and the very first time we got to play with a Grande Sonnerie watch, please meet the new Greubel Forsey Grande Sonnerie, an exceptional timepiece that took 11 years of Research & Development and that combines a Petite and Grande Sonnerie with a Tourbillon in one watch. This is by far, one of the three most impressive watches presented at the SIHH 2017. Composed of no less than 935 parts in addition to the filling of two patents, the development of an acoustic resonance cage producing an extremely pure sound like this one was a true feat for the team at Greubel Forsey.

One of those watches that didn't get much attention or exposure at the SIHH 2017 is the new Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Compressor Chronograph in black ceramic with rose gold hands and rose gold crown and pushers. If you thought that all other JLC Master Compressor Chronographs in black ceramic were sporty, wait until you see how awesome this new watch got thanks to the perfect combination of 18K rose gold with black. Fitted with a matte black ceramic case measuring 46 mm in diameter and 14.27 in thickness.

Equipped with an invisible but revolutionary innovation, the new Panerai Submersible 1950 BMG-Tech 3 Days Automatic PAM 692 sports a case, bezel, crown and protecting device in BMG-Tech —where BMG stands for Bulk Metallic Glass. This material similar to titanium but darker grey is also extremely resistant and quite light.

This year at the SIHH 2017, Roger Dubuis announced its partnership with Pirelli and a strategy based on disruptive materials and progressive complications. As part of their new alliance with Pirelli, there are two new watches —the Excalibur Spider Pirelli Double Flying Tourbillon and the Excalibur Spider Pirelli Automatic Skeleton — that we'll talk about in a couple of days. A watch that is not part of this alliance but one of the most impressive timepieces unveiled at the Salon this year is the new Roger Dubuis Excalibur Quatuor Cobalt Micro-Melt.

He will be stepping down from operational management to take up his new responsibilities as non-executive President on March 31st 2017.

Lange & Söhne Lange 31 has been the first and only mechanical wristwatch with a power reserve of 31 days and a patented constant-force escapement that continuously delivers uniform torque. Last week at the SIHH 2017 in Geneva, A. Lange & Söhne unveiled a new variation of the Lange 31 —up until now only available in platinum as ref. 130.025 or in 18K rose gold as ref. 130.032— in 18K white gold with a grey dial. This new watch is limited to 100 watches.
