Today, we bring you a new watch that left many in awe at the SIHH 2016 Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie. The new Greubel Forsey GF01 Signature 1 Unique Edition was presented as the point of entry watch into the Greubel Forsey brand. This watch not only represents a new era for Greubel Forsey, but it also revives a popular concept dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries known as 'subscription watch' and made popular by Abraham-Louis Breguet.
Rare Bird: Armin Strom Tourbillon Fire Diamond-Set. Just Because Diamonds Can Be Very Tastefully Done on a Watch of this Caliber.
At the end of last year we ran into this rare bird. This unique piece from Armin Strom, is inspired by the design of the Armin Strom Tourbillon Fire —full 18K rose gold piece— but fitted with a very unique baguette diamond-set bezel with 45 VVS1 diamonds with a total weight of 2.8 carats. The case measuring 43.4 mm x 13 mm is made of 18K rose gold and the diamond set bezel is a one-off piece rarely seen from the masters of skeletonization out of Bern.

Continuing their collaboration with L'Epée 1839 —Switzerland's only specialized high-end clock manufacture— MB&F presents another amazing clock at the SIHH 2016. As we go hands-on with the new Sherman —a cute little robot— that doesn't walk, talk, weld cars, or roam Mars, but that tells time and puts a smile on your face every time you look at it. Conceived and developed by MB&F and engineered and crafted by L’Epée 1839, Sherman is the result of Maximilian Büsser’s on-going quest to revisit his childhood, during which he hankered for a robot friend.

Presented at the SIHH 2016, all three models in the Top Gun line from IWC had undergone a few modifications. The new IWC Pilot's Watch Mark XVIII Top Gun Miramar ref. IW324702 features all these modifications making it ultra appealing. First, instead of a soft strap, the watch now features an embossed calfskin strap that looks like a nylon fabric strap in military green.

The Armin Strom Manual Fire ref. RG11-MF.90 is one of the four watches within the entry level Manual collection for this Swiss manufacture from Biel/Bienne. While the words 'entry level' might typically convey lower price point in the watch category; when it comes to independent watch manufactures like Armin Strom, we are talking more about a price point situated above the $10K USD mark and in the case of this 18K rose gold piece right above $20K —which is not bad at all for a piece of this calibre in gold.

Originally launched in 2014, the HYT H1 Iceberg now makes its appearance at the SIHH 2016 Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie in a new iteration named HYT H1 Iceberg2. This new piece, crafted in the colors of the sky and the sea, is a limited edition of 50 pieces and will be available in stores as of March 2016. The new SIHH 2016 HYT H1 Iceberg2 is fitted with a titanium case measuring 48.8 mm in diameter and a thickness of 17.9 mm just exactly like the H1 Iceberg, but this time, featuring a strikingly beautiful grand feu enamel minute dial in blue and hour numerals on the flange also in blue.

Here's another one of our favorite pieces from IWC this year at the SIHH 2016 Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie Genève. For three years now, IWC has returned to the theme of Saint-Exupéry’s 'Little Prince' with special editions. At the SIHH 2016, four Pilot’s Watches were presented featuring the typical midnight blue dial and brown calfskin strap with beige contrast stitching, typical of the 'Le Petit Prince' limited editions.

News: Pre-Baselworld 2016 Girard-Perregaux Presents the New Laureato 2016 Limited Edition. The Return of an Iconic Watch Originally Launched in 1975.
To celebrate the 225th anniversary of their manufacture, Girard-Perregaux is bringing back the iconic Girard-Perregaux Laureato. The GP Laureato was originally launched in 1975 as a competitor to the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak with a very similar type of case design with flat top around the bezel, and also sporting an octagonal-shaped bezel. The case was in between a Royal Oak and an IWC Ingenieur SL.

This year, was the first year that the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie invited some of the independent brands into the 26th edition of the SIHH 2016 Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie Genève. First presented at the SIHH 2015, the Excalibur Automatic Skeleton became Roger Dubuis’ first non-tourbillon skeleton timepiece, powered by its first skeletonized automatic movement.

This year at the SIHH 2016 Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie, the iconic IWC Big Pilot's watch got a facelift. In the case of the IWC Big Pilot’s Watch line, IWC has taken a step back to the roots of the original model. The triangular index is once again positioned below the chapter ring, while the numerals appear slightly bolder and the five-minute indices a little slimmer.
