As expected, Baselworld 2020 has been cancelled and postponed until January 2021. For health safety reasons and in accordance with the precautionary principle following the bans of large-scale public and private events issued today by the Swiss federal and cantonal authorities, Baselworld announces that it has taken the decision to postpone the show to Thursday, January 28th, 2021 thru Tuesday, February 2nd, 2021 —Press Day on Wednesday 27th January—, due to concerns related to the Coronavirus Covid-19.

The Urwerk U-100 was initially released in two different versions back in September 2019 under the Space-Time names. You can see the previous iterations of this watch here. The Urwerk UR-100 Space-Time was launched in two 25-piece limited editions, one referred to as UR-100 Iron in titanium and steel, and the second one UR-100 Black in black PVD-coated titanium and black PVD-coated steel. The Urwerk UR-100 was inspired by a 19th-century pendulum clock —a present to Felix Baumgartner from his father Geri, a now-retired renowned clock restorer— made by Gustave Sandoz for the 1893 World’s Fair in Chicago.

Inspired by the Speedmaster ST 105.003 that Ed White wore in 1965 when he became the first American to walk in space, this new 39.70 mm stainless steel model features a bezel ring in polished black ceramic —ZrO2— with a tachymeter scale in white enamel. Along with Cory Richards’ watch, other important watches were offered for sale including Jack Nicklaus’ Rolex Day-Date as well as Marlon Brando’s Rolex GMT Master.
