Two weeks ago we brought a special feature on the M.A.D.1 Friends Edition here on WCL after almost a whole year since it was launched. While the M.A.D.1 is not an MB&F Machine, but a more accessible timepiece that was created under a different brand, the idea was still generated by Max Büsser himself. The first M.A.D.1 Friends Edition literally broke the internet and it was reserved for ‘Friends’ —suppliers who help MB&F create their MB&F Machines— and to the members of ‘The Tribe’ —the owners of MB&F machines.
Rare Bird: M.A.D. 1 Friends Edition. Exclusively for MB&F Friends and The Tribe.
Before the end of 2021, Max Büsser did the unthinkable releasing a watch priced at CHF 1,900 Swiss Francs —approximately $2,000 USD. Reserved for his friends and what MB&F likes to call The Tribe —the select group of clients that have purchased MB&F watches in the past. The M.A.D. 1 Friends Edition looks a lot like an MB&F but is not one. Between the finishes, the engine, and the craftsmanship, the M.A.D. 1 is just a fun watch that Max Büsser launched because he can. And you know what? We love that.
Introducing: MB&F Orb by L'Epée 1839. A Chiming Desk Clock Like No Other.
At first glance, the Orb clock by MB&F and L’Epée 1839 looks like a futuristic model of an eye with its perfectly formed shiny sphere, and its dial taking the place of the iris and the pupil. But nothing is ever quite what it seems with the collaborative clocks of these two brands. The minimalistic structure is composed of four elytra —that’s the technical word for a beetle’s protective wing covers, in case you were wondering— that not only open up but can also swivel like a transformer to display the Orb in a variety of different positions.
Introducing: MB&F LM FlyingT Allegra X Bulgari. An Unprecedented Collaboration.
Back in 2010, MB&F partnered with Parisian jewelry house Boucheron to create the JwlryMachine. This time, they’ve joined forces with Bulgari out of Rome. The new MB&F Legacy Machine FlyingT Allegra X Bulgari was initially motivated by mutual professional respect and subsequently evolved into a strong friendship between Bulgari’s Product Creation Executive Director, Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani; and MB&F’s Founder and Creative Director, Maximilian Büsser.
Introducing: MB&F LM Perpetual EVO Titanium
Almost exactly a year ago, MB&F presented the LM Perpetual EVO fitted with a zirconium case and three different dial plates in black, blue, and atomic orange. At the time, MB&F explained how the EVO suffix marked a significant evolution of the MB&F story thanks to a redesigned, sleeker case, ergonomic double-sprung pushers, an integrated rubber strap, Super-LumiNova, a specially developed ‘FlexRing’ shock-absorbing system, a screw-down crown, and 80 meters of water resistance.
Introducing: MB&F HM10 Panda for ONLY Watch 2021
This year marks the ninth edition of ONLY Watch, a biennial charity auction of one-of-a-kind timepieces where 99 percent of proceeds go to fund research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a genetic disorder characterized by progressive muscle degeneration primarily affecting young boys. This is the sixth time MB&F has contributed one of its Machines to ONLY Watch, once again going above and beyond in the creation of a truly unique timepiece.
Introducing: MB&F Legacy Machine Perpetual Palladium with Aquamarine Dial. A 25-piece Limited Edition.
First presented in 2015, the MB&F LM Perpetual is one of the brand’s absolute superstars. Eye Candy: MB&F Horological Machine No. 9 Flow. Inspired by Automotive and Aviation Design.
Released in 2018, the MB&F HM9 Flow was presented in two limited editions of 33 pieces each. The watch was conceptualized by Max Büsser and designed by mastermind Eric Giroud. With Guillaume Thévenin who developed the movement, Camile Fournet who worked on the strap and Jean-François Mojon who collaborated on the precision turning of wheels, pinions and axes, amongst other parts.

News: Presenting Three New Editions of the MB&F Legacy Machine 101
The MB&F Legacy Machine 101 series was first launched in 2014. As suggested by its ‘101’ name, it focuses on the essentials of a mechanical wristwatch, contained in one of MB&F’s most compact Machines with a case diameter of 40 mm. At the time, the LM101 movement was also the first entirely conceived by MB&F’s in-house engineering team. In 2021, the LM101 series evolves with technically and aesthetically upgraded versions distinguished by colorful dial plates, including a stainless steel version.
News: Presenting the MB&F LMX Celebrating 10 Years of Legacy Machines
The new LMX returns to the earliest encounter with the Legacy Machine collection, utilizing the same expression comprising a central flying balance wheel and two dials, although everything else is different. Those familiar with MB&F’s very first Legacy Machine will instinctively know how LMX operates. Two dials of stretched white lacquer, each with its own display of hours and minutes. The dial on the right is set by the crown at the 2 o’clock position, which bears an engraving of the MB&F battle-ax and also winds the movement.
News: Presenting the MB&F Horological Machine No. 9 HM9 Sapphire Vision
First presented in 2018, Horological Machine N°9 —nicknamed HM9 ‘Flow’— was a tribute to the extraordinary automotive and aeronautic designs of the 1940s and 50s. The result was a case like no other that echoed the epoch’s flowing, aerodynamic lines. Despite its striking external appearance, MB&F founder Maximilian Büsser described the engine inside HM9 as “the most beautiful movement we’ve created to date”. What other logical step was there to take, if not to encase the HM9 engine in a transparent sapphire crystal shell?

Today, the 10th-anniversary celebration continues but this time for the HM4 which also made its debut in 2010 when the HM3 Frog was released. A decade ago, MB&F also shocked the watchmaking world with what remains to be one of the most radical horological machines ever created by them. We are talking about the HM4 Thunderbolt.
News: Presenting the MB&F HM3 Frog X 10th-Anniversary Edition
In 2009, MB&F was four years into its creative expression of mechanical art. Horological Machines No. 1 and No. 2 had established the guiding principles of the Maximilian Büsser & Friends collective: audacious design, transformative micromechanics, untrammeled imagination. Then came Horological Machine No. 3; HM3 had everything that HM1 and HM2 had before —the design, the micromechanics, the imagination— but its defiant three-dimensional construction shot MB&F into hyperspace.
News: Presenting the MB&F Legacy Machine Perpetual EVO. Celebrating the Brand's 15th Anniversary
Over the past 15 years, MB&F creations have transported their wearers to destinations that exist only on maps of the imagination: from star-cruisers to deep-sea jellyfish, Maximilian Büsser’s Machines are the mechanical cartographers of the multiverse. But the greatest journey has yet to be undertaken, and true progress is marked by evolution as the brand presents the new Legacy Machine Perpetual EVO.

The last few months have been challenging, forcing companies across all sectors to rethink their business models. At MB&F this involved finding new ways to stay close to clients without being physically present since 24 out of their 27 points of sale were closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Offering customers an e-commerce option has become an essential part of the mix but they are doing that with a twist. Today, MB&F has announced its new e-commerce concept.
