Geneva Tourism launches inaugural ‘Geneva Watchmaking Guide’ in collaboration with the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie. The meticulously curated 175-page guide is a journey through horological history, showcasing Geneva's centuries-old tradition of watchmaking and designed to immerse tourists in the birthplace of haute horology. Geneva has been the epicenter of watchmaking for centuries, and now there's finally a comprehensive guide to help visitors unlock the city's rich horological heritage.
More Than Just a Tourist Guide
The Geneva Watchmaking Guide is no ordinary city guide. Elegantly designed in a high-quality hardcover format, this pocket-sized volume brings together everything visitors need to explore Geneva's watchmaking universe: historical monuments, watch manufacture visits, immersive experiences, and themed events. The bilingual guide, available in both French and English, covers the history of watchmaking, the great Maisons, the industry's economy, technical specifications, and the extraordinary diversity of this iconic Genevan industry, all presented through interviews, experiences, and illustrations.
"Haute horology is much more than just the art of measuring time: it is a culture of high standards, details, and tradition," says Aurélie Streit, Vice President of the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie.
"This guide provides the key to unlocking a better understanding of this exceptional world. Through our collaboration with Geneva Tourism, we have one shared ambition: to make this rich culture accessible to all, and to promote Geneva's expertise in watchmaking to an ever-wider audience."
