To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Royal Oak Offshore launched in 1993, AP has decied to present a reissue of the original Royal Oak Offshore 25721ST from 1993. Today, we've finally checked the watch in person and its really stunning. The new Royal Oak Offshore ref. 26237ST.OO.1000ST.01. is as similar as possible to the original Royal Oak Offshore ref. 25721ST.OO.1000ST.01 a.k.a. 'The Beast'. You can read everything about the original Royal Oak Offshore ref. 25721 in this special comprehensive guide we published a few months ago.
Below, a few pictures of the original Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore ref. 25721ST inside its original presentation box from 1993 and on top of one of the advertisements from the era.
After the introduction of the original Royal Oak Offshore in 1993, more than 120 references of this 42 mm model have been launched in various materials such as stainless steel, titanium, gold and platinum. More than two decades after its launch, the Royal Oak Offshore still manages to reveal new creative dimensions. Below the new reissue next to one of the first 200 Offshores ever produced.
For the new Royal Oak Offshore reissue ref. 26237ST.OO.1000ST.01, the watch is fitted with a petite tapisserie blue dial in an almost identical hue to the original one. A difference is that the font on the calendar wheel is blue opposed to black on the original Offshore.
Additionaly, this time the watch is powered by the AP Calibre 3126/3840 instead of the JLC-based Audemars Piguet calibre 2226. While the proportions of the watch remain exactly the same as in the original Royal Oak Offshore at 42 mm in diameter and 15 mm in thickness, the watch comes with a solid case back like the original Offshore.
One additional thing that is worth pointing out, is that the pushers and crown on the new reissue model are rubber clad rather than 'therban' as on the original model.
This Royal Oak Offshore Reissue of ‘The Beast’ will be available in a limited edition of 250 pieces; however, it is important to clarify that these 250 pieces are not individually numbered.
