SIHH 2018: Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph QEII Cup 2018 ref. 26474TI. Live Pictures & Pricing.

Referred to by Audemars Piguet as a thoroughbred to celebrate one of the world’s great horse races. This year’s new Royal Oak Offshore QEII Cup 2018 sports a full titanium construction with a winning blue and grey color combination.

Slightly inspired by the first Titanium Royal Oak Offshore ref. 25721TI comes the new Royal Oak Offshore QEII Cup 2018. With a lightweight titanium case measuring 42 mm in diameter and a total weight of only 163 grams —30 grams lighter than the stainless steel version— and fitted with a display case back with the QEII Cup 2018 engraving, this new watch features a dark grey dial with dark blue registers and Arabic numerals with dark blue luminescent coating —in reality it looks more like black.

The Dial

The grey dial has a very unique hue slightly darker than that on the Royal Oak Offshore ‘Elephant’ and the blue on the chrono registers is almost the same hue of blue as that on the dial of the newly released 1993 ROO The Beast reissue ref. 26771ST. While the Arabic numerals are meant to be also dark blue, in person they appear more like black.

The Movement & Case Back

Like all other modern Royal Oak Offshores released after 2007 —with the exception of the Rubber Clad—, the Offshore 'The Real Batman' is powered by the calibre 3126/3840 —based off the Audemars Piguet in-house automatic calibre 3120 with a Dubois Depraz chrono module on it. The movement is fully visible via the display case back, also a new feature on the second generation of 42 mm Royal Oak Offshores released at the SIHH 2014. This automatic movement composed of 365 parts, beats at a frequency of 21,600 vph —3 Hz— to provide a power reserve of 50 hours. This 59-jewel movement, also features the signature solid gold oscillating weight engraved with the crests of the Audemars and Piguet families.

The display case back revealing the AP calibre 3126 features a special engraving ‘QEII Cup 2018’ and ‘Limited Edition’ and the bottom.
