Omega's beloved Railmaster watch returns this year with fresh color gradients and a clean aesthetic that honors its heritage. Originally launched in 1957 as part of Omega’s ‘Professional Line’ trilogy, the Railmaster was specifically designed for railway professionals during an era of scientific advancement. It joined the Speedmaster—for racing drivers—and Seamaster 300—for divers—in Omega's functional professional collection.
The Railmaster's exceptional anti-magnetic properties made it revolutionary, with its protective inner case resisting magnetic fields up to 1,000 gauss—far surpassing the typical 60-gauss protection of contemporary watches. This made it ideal for engineers, industrialists, and scientists working near railway lines. The collection has maintained its popularity for its vintage styling and working-class heritage, with several revivals since 2003.
The new stainless steel models retain Omega's signature DNA through symmetrical cases and linked bracelets that align with the Seamaster Aqua Terra aesthetic—a design connection maintained since 2003.
The new releases include:
A 38 mm version with a grey-to-black gradient dial featuring minimalist design elements: just the Omega logo and Railmaster name. White SuperLumiNova indexes and numerals ensure excellent readability. Available with either a black leather strap or an improved stainless steel bracelet with comfort adjustment.
A 38mm version with a beige-to-black gradient dial featuring a Small Seconds function reminiscent of the 2004 Railmaster. Vintage SuperLumiNova indexes and numerals complete the look. Available with either a golden brown Novonappa leather strap or an enhanced stainless steel bracelet.
Both models showcase polished and brushed finishes on cases and bracelets, creating an appealing contrast in textures.
Over 60 years after its debut, Omega remains an anti-magnetic innovation leader. These new Railmasters feature the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8806—and Small Seconds 8804—, offering 15 times greater magnetic resistance than the original models. METAS-certified at the industry's highest standard, they can withstand magnetism up to 15,000 gauss—a testament to OMEGA's continuing technical excellence.
Sticker Price USD 5,800 Grey Dial on bracelet, USD 5,400 Grey Dial on strap, USD 6,400 Beige Dial on bracelet, and USD 6,000 Beige Dial on strap.
