Introducing: M.A.D.2 R&B and M.A.D.2 REDemption—One for the Raffle, One for the Relentless

When M.A.D.Editions launched the M.A.D.2 in 2025; designer Eric Giroud's GPHG Petite Aiguille Prize-winning tribute to 1990s club culture arrived in Green and Orange. For 2026, the collection goes darker and more charged with two new editions in red and black, each with its own route to ownership. The M.A.D.2 R&B and REDemption arrive with both design and distribution refined by experience. For a project that started as a single email to 500 people, M.A.D.Editions has developed into something genuinely distinct and REDemption, in particular, represents a kind of loyalty program that no other watch brand has ever attempted with this level of sincerity.

Things to Know About the Watch

The M.A.D.2's design language carries through both new editions: a 42mm pebble-shaped stainless steel and sapphire case, raised central subdials evoking DJ turntable platters, a central dial grooved like a vinyl record, and a stroboscopic winding rotor—visible from both sides—inspired by the legendary Technics SL-1200 MK2. What changes is the colorway and, more interestingly, the story each one tells.

The M.A.D.2 R&B—Red & Black—, with a nod to the music genre that never left the dance floor, pairs a midnight-black dial plate and strap with red jumping-hour and trailing-minute discs. It follows the established M.A.D.Editions raffle format: registration open for one week, with the draw conducted under bailiff supervision to ensure a fair and transparent process.

The M.A.D.2 REDemption is something else entirely. It inverts the colorway with a bright red dial plate, black discs, and inverts the acquisition model entirely. This edition is reserved exclusively for fans who have entered at least four previous M.A.D.Editions raffles without ever winning. No new raffle. No competing with thousands of fresh entrants. The M.A.D.Editions team contacts qualifying fans directly and offers them the piece outright. Water resistance is rated to 30 meters.

The Movement

Both editions run the Swiss-made La Joux-Perret G101 calibre, beating at 4 Hz with 24 jewels and a 64-hour power reserve via automatic winding. The movement is paired with a bi-directional jumping-hour module developed in-house by the MB&F team. The mechanism that gives the M.A.D.2 its signature instantaneous hour display alongside a trailing minutes disc.

The winding rotor on the REDemption carries an engraving that says everything: "They say I'm stubborn, I'd say persistent." It is, in every sense, earned. Meanwhile, the R&B says, “It’s a Mad World.”
