Richard Mille opened its largest boutique in the world this month, in New York City. Located at 46 East 57th Street, in the heart of Manhattan —right across from Audemars Piguet and next to Phillips and Jacob & Co.—, the 4,200 square feet flagship becomes the ninth Richard Mille boutique in the Americas. A two-story oasis of sleek contemporary design, bathed in abundant natural light, the boutique represents a new architectural standard for the luxury brand. Richard Mille himself and John Simonian —CEO of Richard Mille Americas and owner of Westime— started the search for the ideal boutique location in New York a decade ago. As it turned out, the property they ultimately selected did not even exist 10 years ago.

Eye Candy: Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver Chronograph ref. 26703ST. A Very Colorful Yellow and Black Diving Watch.
The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver Chronograph ref. 26703ST was launched two years ago and despite its lack of popularity among the Offshore collection we think that is a great looking watch that breaks with the monochromatic lines of the usual Offshore Diver. While adding a chronograph function to the movement and ceramic crowns/pushers made the watch more expensive —higher than the Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph— and less of the usual Diving watch, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver ref. 26703ST.OO.A051CA.01 still remains a true diver's watch thanks to its ISO 6425 certification and its water resistance to a depth of 300 meters.
Rare Bird: Rolex GMT-Master ref. 16758 'SARU' for Sultanate of Oman. A Strikingly Beautiful Timepiece with Royal Provenance.
The Rolex GMT-Master is without a doubt one of the most renowned and sought after models when it comes to watch collecting. The GMT-Master ref. 16758 ‘SARU’ —referring to the sapphires and rubies on its bezel— is a lavishly set with diamonds, sapphires and rubies GMT Master that along with reference 6270 and 6269, was the earliest Rolex sports watch to feature any precious stones. This concept was incredibly daring in the 1980s, as tool watches and luxury gem-set timepieces resided in two separate spheres.

Insider: Manufacture Royale ADN. A Combination Between the Opera and the Androgyne with a Flying Tourbillon.
In an interesting combination between two of their most iconic watches comes the Manufacture Royal ADN —French for DNA. Offering a dual time zone complication, the case of the ADN is a delicate blend of the intricate case construction of the Opera and Androgyne collections. With a curvier outline the case presents mobile lugs that pivot for a perfect ergonomic fit on the owner’s wrist. In case you’ve forgotten about Manufacture Royale’s story, we’ll give you a quick refresher. This independent watch brand was revived in 2010 and is directly linked to the Manufacture Royale des Montres de Ferney, which was a watchmaking atelier in which thinker and philosopher Voltaire was involved back in 1770.

We are sure this is not the beginning of another exodus now compromising the future of the SIHH, because in all honesty, this is the best watch show in the world and one that we absolutely love attending.
