Beautifully streamlined with its entirely open-worked movement, this new watch comes in two versions, one in 18K 5N pink gold and the other in Grade 5 titanium. Insider: Vacheron Constantin Historiques 222. Like Holding a 222 'Safe Queen' from 1977.
Vacheron Constantin presents a contemporary re-edition of the 37 mm 18K yellow gold 222 "Jumbo”. The 222 was an emblematic sporty-chic model launched in 1977 that marked a turning point in Vacheron Constantin's classic creations and that was designed by Jorg Hysek —not by Gérald Genta as many like to believe. For this reinterpretation, Vacheron Constantin maintained all the original design cues down to the case size but added a new type of clasp —triple-blade rather than double-blade— to the bracelet, as well as a display case back that allows for a full view of the new-generation calibre 2455/2.

From the Editor: Why is the Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Twin Beat Perpetual Calendar Not More Popular?
When the Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Twin Beat Perpetual Calendar was presented at the SIHH 2019 I was quite impressed by it, but unfortunately I didn’t get to spend much time with it back then. Later that year, I got to peruse the watch a second time and it continued to grow on me. Then, recently, I ran into a collector who was wearing one and I thought I should talk more about it because I still can’t understand why this watch is not more popular.

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the American 1921 watch, the "Classic with a twist" exhibition celebrates the creative freedom of Vacheron Constantin at the dawn of the 20th century. From the 1910s to the 1930s, Vacheron Constantin was particularly renowned for its extraordinary artistic effervescence. The wide range of different-shaped ‘form’ cases and special displays on show in this exhibition reflects an exciting chapter in the history of Vacheron Constantin.
Insider: Vacheron Constantin Historiques American 1921 100th Anniversary Edition
In 1921, Vacheron Constantin created a watch with an avant-garde design produced primarily for the American market. This year, commemorating the 100th anniversary of this icon, three new interpretations of the American 1921 model were released a few months ago. Now, in reality, the origin of the Vacheron Constantin American 1921 can be even traced back to 1919 when few pieces were manufactured. Two years later, Vacheron Constantin produced another small series for the United States of America hence named American 1921, which defined the re-design of the current Historiques model.
