First used by Audemars Piguet on watches like the Royal Oak Offshore Schumacher and the Royal Oak Offshore Jarno Trulli, Cermet was first used by AP on the Jarno Trulli in 2010 and then an all three iterations of the Schumi. Cermet is a very advanced composite typically used in creating heat shields for space shuttles and its name is the result of the contraction of the words “ceramic” and “metal”. Cermet is anti-corrosive and extremely hard with a hardness rating of 2,360 Vickers.

After inventing a new way of telling time, without dials or hands, Genus introduces a timepiece in Damascene Titanium. It is a rare material in Haute Horlogerie. An ancient technique that involves a savoir-faire as challenging as it is subtle. It is called Mokume-gane in Japan, where the method has been used for making katana sword blades since the 17th century. In the heart of the forge, the hammering and folding of layer upon layer of titanium is a craft reserved for the best.

With this new Tradition Dame model, Breguet offers a contemporary reinterpretation of an aesthetic conceived by the House’s founder in the late eighteenth century. Visible from the dial, the movement, deep brown in color, takes up the symmetrical architecture of the historic subscription watch. This innovative timepiece design was created by Abraham-Louis Breguet, in Paris, in the wake of the French Revolution, following a long trip to Switzerland during which he had mused on a great number of projects.
