Fully developed in-house, the new Hermès H08 is a new pillar collection for the brand. An everyday, all-terrain watch that embodies Creative Director Véronique Nichanian’s vision of the men’s universe. Light and travels easily for any experience. The design is a collaboration between Véronique, Pierre-Alexis Dumas —Artistic Director, Hermès—, and Philippe Delhotal —Artistic Director, Hermès Horloger. Created completely in-house, the new H08 features the manufacture H1837 movement.

The Hermès H08 requires the watchmakers that craft it to demonstrate a flair for detail, meticulous care, and patiently acquired expertise. Firmly of its time, it embodies spirit, momentum and movement. Its sporting-inspired design mingles taut and flowing lines, its circular dial framed by a case with softened edges, as if angles and curves were merging into a seamless whole. It appears bedecked in mineral materials and tones, with black, grey and anthracite quite naturally rubbing shoulders with blue and orange.

At once serious and sensual, robust and delicate, matte and glossy, it is defined by its inherently varied, multi-faceted nature. The enigmatic name of the Hermès H08 watch hints at graphics, mathematics and metaphysics. The distinctively original font of the numerals chimes with the object, including a 0 and an 8 whose forms evoke that of the case. The 0 numeral embodies emptiness, while the horizontal figure 8 symbolizes infinity. Like a journey between nothing and everything. As if echoing the mystery and depth of time.

Beating to the rhythm of the mechanical self-winding Manufacture Hermès H1837 movement, the new Hermès H08 line offers three large cushion-shaped models with a screw-down crown. The first features a graphene-filled composite cushion-shaped case; topped by a satin-brushed and polished ceramic bezel. Its black gold-coated dial is punctuated by a minutes track, luminescent Arabic numerals, and black nickel-coated hands displaying the hours, minutes, central seconds, and date at half past four. It is paired with a black rubber strap secured by a titanium butterfly clasp. Two other variants, the first in matte black DLC-coated titanium and the second in satin-brushed titanium frame a black nickel-coated dial and are teamed with a blue or black webbing band, or a black or orange rubber strap. In addition to its toughness and comfort, the woven strap specially developed for the Hermès H08 watch epitomises a style that is as sporty as it is sophisticated, entirely consistent with the world of Hermès menswear.

Sticker Price $8,900 USD for Graphene on rubber strap, $6,050 USD for titanium on titanium bracelet, $5,500 USD for titanium on rubber strap or webbed fabric, and $5,700 USD for titanium with DLC coating on rubber strap or webbed fabric. For more info on Hermès click here.
