Experience: Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin. Influenced by World Travel, Like a Vacheron Constantin Overseas.

Infused with twelve botanicals like the twelve months of the year, the Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin is as well balanced as the Vacheron Constantin Overseas Perpetual Calendar. Distilled at the edge of a lake in a shed in a small Irish town called Drumshanbo —like the Vacheron Constantin manufacture founded at the edge of a lake—, the ordinary is made extraordinary. Within this small shed, the laboratory of PJ Rigney is located. PJ is a begetter of handmade spirits who slowly distills this gin with nature’s finest oriental botanicals and gunpowder tea.

Experience: Patek Philippe ref. 5960/1A and a Macan GTS with Bordeaux Red Interior. A Match Made in Heaven.

Every once in a while, certain watches are the perfect match for a particular car. Depending on the color of their dials, straps, or colorful accents —in their overall design—, one can sometimes perfectly match a watch to the exterior and interior of a car. While it doesn’t happen often, we believe that the combination between a Patek Philippe ref. 5960/1A and a jet black metallic Porsche Macan GTS with Bordeaux red Interior, is a match made in heaven.

From the Editor: Watch Collecting Lifestyle Photography Now Available for Purchase at the Ferrari Art Gallery

I am happy to announce that some of our photographic works are now available for purchase at the Ferrari Art Gallery in Dallas, Texas. Back in 2018, I stumbled upon the Ferrari Gallery in the Dallas Design District and I was blown away by what I had just discovered. Here’s the article we published about the gallery and the works of James Ferrari that includes incredible sculptures that are created out of salvage Ferrari parts from modern Ferraris. The Ferrari Gallery is located in Dallas’ Design District and is led by husband and wife James and Debra Ferrari —both renowned artists.

Experience: Porsche 911 GT2RS Clubsport. Limited Like an AP Royal Oak Offshore Rubens Barrichello 1.

It’s been a while since we last talked about automobiles here on WCL, and as we begin delivering the content for the new year 2021, we said to ourselves, why not talk about the most impressive Porsche ever to start the year with a bang. Very much like an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Rubens Barrichello 1 ref. 26071IK.OO.D002CA.01, the Porsche 911 GT2RS Clubsport comes in a limited edition of only 200 units.

Experience: Happy New Year. Best Wishes in Style with the Art of Sabrage.

Wishing all of you the best wishes for the year that is about to start. We couldn’t be more grateful for your readership and loyalty. Because of you, our readers, we strive to do better every day. How about a little feature on Sabrage to welcome the new year in style. The act of Sabrage refers to the act of opening a bottle of champagne by sliding a saber over its neck. Now, while many believe that the saber slices the neck of the bottle or pushes the cork out, what in reality happens is that the slight impact of the saber on the seam of the bottle creates a chain reaction that makes the bottle release its pressure by breaking its top cork included.

Experience: Valentino Garavani Flycrew Leather Sneakers. Better when Paired with a Blue Rolex Datejust 41.

There are times when a pair of retro-looking white sneakers is all that you need to complete a very Euro-chic look along with a pair of Armani blue jeans, a navy blue merino from Ferragamo, and a Rolex Datejust 41 ref. 126300. The Valentino Garavani Flycrew leather sneakers are exactly that perfect supple, ultra-luxurious 80’s-esque retro-looking sneakers you need to have. Handmade in Italy from ultra-supple white leather, these sneakers feature a row of gunmetal colored Valentino signature rockstuds along the profile of the heel.

Experience: Hendrick's Orbium Limited Edition. In a Blue Bottle That Perfectly Matches the Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual Time.

Hendrick’s Gin is produced by the family-owned William Grant & Sons distillery in Scottland and their gin is distilled at the Girvan distillery that mainly focuses on distilling whiskey. What makes Hendrick’s so unique is their blend of nine botanicals that include Bulgarian roses and specially selected cucumbers. While the rest of their botanicals —orange peel, yarrow, juniper berries, angelica root, and orris root amongst others—…

Experience: OPP France Lace-up Suede Sneakers Blue. A Perfect Match to Those Blue Dials.

A few weeks ago we came across the OPP France sneakers on IG and it was love at first sight. OPP stands for the eponymous designer O'Papillon and its partners in Paris. OPP has been able to master the concept of simplicity and fashion fusion and every one of their sneakers reflects the designer’s taste, full of traditional but at the same time rebellious personality. With a slight vintage look reminiscent of sneakers from the 70s and 80s, the OPP France Lace-up suede sneakers offer the perfect combination of fabric, suede, and patent leather in a striking color palette available in five different color combinations.

Experience: Hendrick's Midsummer Solstice Gin with an Armin Strom Edge Double Barrel for Those Longer Summer Nights

On June 21, the midsummer solstice will take place and the days will become shorter, while the nights become longer. This is the day when the Earth's axis is most aligned with the sun, providing us with the longest day of the year. That’s the time when a black PVD watch like the Armin Strom Edge Double Barrel captures the essence of the night dressed in its dark cloak and when a Hendrick's Midsummer Solstice washes away all worries.

Experience: Lamborghini Urus and an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Ultra-Thin. Two Impossible to Believe Feats of Design.

When the Lamborghini Urus came out, everyone thought it was impossible for a supercar brand like Lamborghini to ever release an SUV that would still feel like a Lambo without losing its soul. In parallel, when the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Ultra-Thin was presented as a concept watch under the RD#2 name, everyone thought that such a thin automatic perpetual calendar only 6.30 mm thick would never be put into regular production. Well, Lamborghini and AP have proven everyone wrong.

Experience: Havana Club Unión. The Only Time You'll See a Rum of this Caliber Alongside a Pepsi.

There are rums made to be mixed with cola and there are others that you just don’t even dare to do so and you drink either neat or over a big rock of ice. While a Cuba Libre —Rum with Cola— calls for cola in the mix, it’s sacrilege to ever mix it with a Pepsi and not with a Coca-Cola. Here at WCL we like to go against the tide and we are mixing this Havana Club Unión with a Pepsi, at least just from a photo essay standpoint. If you ask us why?, we’ll tell you that the reason behind is because a Rolex GMT Master Pepsi was the iconic watch that Fidel Castro —the former dictator of Cuba— used to wear after the triumph of the Cuban Revolution he once led.

Experience: Burj Al Arab Jumeirah in Dubai. The Most Luxurious Hotel in the World.

Not to be mistaken with the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah is not only Dubai’s most iconic building but also the most luxurious hotel in the world. Located steps away from the Jumeriah Public Beach and the Souk Madinat, the iconic white sail-shaped building hides a level of luxury accommodations and decor splendor within its walls that has no parallel. The Burj Al Arab is the only hotel in the world with seven stars and the fifth tallest hotel in the world sitting on a man-made island and connected to the Jumeriah beach by a private curving bridge. Once you embark on your journey via Emirates Business or First Class, make sure you order a negroni on your way to Dubai. Yes, the only airline we’ve flown where an actual proper negroni is served.

Experience: Las Garrafas Máscara de Xaguar Naranja Mezcal. Like a Daytona and a Royal Oak, Always Evolving.

Mezcal is a distilled alcoholic beverage made from any type of agave and the word comes from the Nahuatl language mexcalli, which means ‘oven-cooked agave’. While all tequilas are considered mezcals, not all mezcals can be tequilas. Even though tequila and mezcal are both agave-based distilled spirits, tequila can only be made out of blue agave —agave tequilana— and that is one of the main differences between these two Mexican spirits, not to mention the prominent smoky flavor of mezcal on the palate.

Experience: See a Clean Future Water Sunglasses x RVS Eyewear and Swiss Artist Ugo Rondinone

With Spring right around the corner in less than a month, it is that time when we start talking about sunglasses, swimwear and all those other objects of desire that we love here at WCL and we crave in preparation for Spring and Summer. The See a Clean Future Water Sunglasses by RVS Eyewear and Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone were conceived with a vision in mind and the four terrestrial elements. Since shaded lenses provide a filter to protect our eyes, the people at ONE, ALL, EVERY sought out a designer and an artist, to come out with these inspirational clear frame sunglasses produced in Japan.

Experience: Goyard Leather Gloves. Black and White Pairing for a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona ref. 116500.

Maison Goyard along with Fauré Le Page stand out against other high-end leather makers as they remain more exclusive and hard to get. Goyard originally started as the House of Martin in 1792 by Pierre-Fraçois Martin specialized in box-making, trunk-making, and packing. In 1998 Jean-Michel Signoles —a keen collector and connoisseur of all things Goyard— acquired the company and revived Goyard’s heritage. Re-established as a beacon of timeless elegance, craftsmanship, and exclusivity,

Experience: Twelve Incredible Perpetual Calendar Pictures to Celebrate the New Year 2020

What better way to start celebrating the New Year than with 12 incredible images of Perpetual Calendars from four of our favorite brands. Perpetual Calendars are the most special type of mechanical watch to wear during New Year’s as this type of complication is the only one that accounts for leap years and which always recognizes the months with 30 or 31 days making that instantaneous calendar wheel jump simply fascinating. These 12 images are some of our favorites and include the Vacheron Constantin Overseas Perpetual Calendar, the Patek Philippe Nautilus Perpetual Calendar ref. 5740, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar ref. 26574ST, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Ultra-Thin ref. 26586IP and the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master 8-Day Perpetual Calendar.

Experience: Trench London Bond Harrington Jacket. Black and White Themes Like a JLC Master Compressor Extreme World Chronograph.

One of the most anticipated and latest finds is the Trench London line of jackets. Trench London is a very new brand with garments sewn in limited quantities and delivered straight from England. Each month, Trench London will deliver new garments without exceeding more than 100 pieces by line and by design. Trench London carries four different types of jackets or trenchcoats for both men and women. The Trench London Bond Harrington Jacket we spotted it for the very first time worn by a British gentleman in the company of Lewis Hamilton at the Grand Prix of Austin.

Experience: Fauré Le Page Belt. A Classic Meets one of Our Favorite Belts at the Moment.

Established 38 years earlier than Vacheron Constantin —which happens to be the oldest watch manufacture in the world founded in 1755 with over 260 years of uninterrupted history—, Fauré Le Page is today the oldest French luxury 'maroquinier' —leather goods company— in the world as it was established in 1717, more than a century before Goyard and Louis Vuitton. Much like a rare Rolex Datejust Oysterquartz ref. 17000A that is reserved for those that know, Fauré Le Page would be the equivalent when it comes to luxury leather goods.

Experience: The Art of Sabrage. The Finest Champagne Ritual to Celebrate Your Watchlife.

A special afternoon ritual at the St. Regis hotels, Napoleon’s way to celebrate a victory in the battlefield or simply the coolest way to open a bottle of champagne, that’s exactly what the art of sabrage is about. Sabrage refers to the act of opening a bottle of champagne by sliding a saber over its neck. Now, while many believe that the saber slices the neck of the bottle or pushes the cork out, what in reality happens is that the slight impact of the saber on the seam of the bottle creates a chain reaction that makes the bottle release its pressure by breaking its top cork included. If you want to experience the art of sabrage yourself, there are a few things to keep in mind.

Experience: Le Jules Verne Restaurant at the Eiffel Tower in the Company of Monsieur Emmanuel Breguet

The legacy of Abraham-Louis Breguet in Paris is something undeniable as the watchmaker from Neuchâtel came to Paris to set up shop in 1775 at 51 Quai de l'Horloge. Ingrained in many parts of the city of light, Breguet left behind an array of discoveries, inventions and of course one of the most powerful horological legacies in the world. The Eiffel Tower in Paris features 72 names of scientists, inventors, engineers, mathematicians and Breguet’s last name is there along with those other 71 last names. Located on the eight position from left to right on the Northeast side of the tower, Breguet’s name stands in all glory in one of the most majestic architectural marvels of the 19th century.
