News: Introducing the Richard Mille RM 52-06 Tourbillon Mask. Four 18-Piece Limited Editions.
In 2012, the RM 052 Tourbillon Skull, with its overtly philosophical allegory, served as a milestone in the history of Richard Mille. Symbolizing nonconformity and freedom, the watch was a runaway success, its only limit is that it had a very small production run. Demand for this esoteric piece encouraged Richard Mille to revisit the theme in a new way and bring to life the RM 52-06 Tourbillon Mask. Surrealistic, fantastic, mysterious. The curvaceous lines of the iconic symbol enthroned in the heart of the tourbillon movement make the RM 52-06 one of the most enigmatic calibres.

Located on the right, the Lange outsize date in the classic double aperture is complemented with an equally large day of the week display on the left. The outer verticals of the frames echo the curvature of the bezel. The typical Lange font is used for both displays, though here, the numerals and letters are white against a blue background. The newly developed mechanism consists of 99 individual parts.

News: Presenting the Urwerk UR-100 Space Time. Two 25-piece Limited Editions.
The Urwerk UR-100 was inspired by a 19th century pendulum clock —a present to Felix Baumgartner from his father Geri, a now-retired renowned clock restorer— made by Gustave Sandoz for the 1893 World’s Fair in Chicago. The regulator-style dial does not show time. Instead it shows the distance of the Earth’s rotation at the equator. The extra-long pendulum beats every 2.16 seconds, making every oscillation one kilometer. The main dial has a scale of 10,000 kilometers, shown in units of 100 kilometers, so that each tick —half oscillation— indicates 500 meters traveled on the Earth’s surface—at the equator. The top subdial —10 km— is divided into 10 units, while the lower subdial showing a total of 40,000 km —approximately the equatorial circumference of the Earth— is divided into increments of 1,000 km.

Audemars Piguet introduced its first hand-wound “Philosophique” watch in 1982, inviting wearers to question the notion of passing time. This model referred back to the beginning of time measurement devices, which were equipped with a single hour hand until the beginning of the 18th century to simplify energy transmission.
