Introducing: HYT S1 Seddiqi 75th Anniversary Bespoke Editions

Ahmed Seddiqi's 75th anniversary in 2025 has inspired some of the year's most compelling horological collaborations, and HYT's contribution stands apart through sheer singularity. Rather than producing a numbered, limited-edition series, the Swiss brand has created three unique S1 timepieces—each designated 1 of 1—in a trilogy of colors that tell the story of Dubai's transformation from a desert trading port to a global metropolis.

The S1 Seddiqi editions arrive in Titanium Sand, Titanium Green, and Titanium Blue, with each hue carrying symbolic weight. The Sand edition embodies the heritage of its foundation, evoking the Arabian Peninsula's desert landscape where Ahmed Seddiqi established his vision in 1950. Green represents growth and prosperity, reflecting the oases that symbolize life in Arab culture and mirroring the family's role in nurturing the regional luxury watch market. Blue captures the infinite possibilities of the future, echoing the Arabian Gulf, which has served as Dubai's gateway to the world.

Things to Know About the Watches

Each 45.3 mm titanium case receives specialized treatment reflecting its colorway. The Green edition features highland green ceramic coating, the Blue presents polar blue ceramic coating, while the Sand version showcases natural beadblasted titanium with black coating accents. All three share black-coated titanium crowns elegantly engraved with "7S" commemorating the anniversary, along with sapphire crystals treated with an anti-reflective coating and 50 meters of water resistance.

The dial executions thoughtfully integrate Indian numerals—a tribute to the region's numerical heritage and Ahmed Seddiqi's Middle Eastern roots. The Green edition features black-coated brass hour indicators with green appliques, and green-coated brass minute displays with white and red decals. The Blue inverts this approach with blue-coated brass hour indicators against black appliques, while black-coated brass minute displays feature white and red accents. The Sand version features sand-coated brass throughout, with brown appliques on the hours and sand with red decals on the minutes, creating a cohesive desert-inspired aesthetic enhanced by beige SuperLumiNova on the hands.

The Movement

At the heart of these distinctive timepieces beats HYT's calibre 501-CM, a 352-component mechanical movement delivering 72 hours of power reserve at 28,800 vibrations per hour. The manual-winding calibre drives HYT's signature hydromechanical complication—a system protected by seven patents and honored with the Innovation Prize at the 2012 Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève. Time display is achieved through a fluidic retrograde hours indication, where two immiscible liquids—one colored, one transparent—circulate within a borosilicate glass capillary with an internal diameter of just 0.8 millimeters. The boundary between these fluids—the meniscus—acts as the hour hand, advancing along the capillary throughout the day before instantly retrograding at midnight.

On the Wrist & Price

HYT's innovative quick-change strap system equips each watch with two options. The Green and Blue versions include pure black Velcro and rubber straps. At the same time, the Sand edition pairs a sand Velcro strap with a pure black rubber alternative—all secured by black DLC-coated titanium clasps with satin and sandblasted finishes.

Available exclusively through Ahmed Seddiqi, these three singular timepieces represent HYT's most personalized tribute yet to a retail partner whose legacy continues shaping the horological landscape.
