Insider: Santos de Cartier Skeleton Pink Gold. Hands-on with the Most Beautiful Santos Ever Made.

After receiving a small face lift earlier this year, one of the most iconic and popular Cartier watches from the 80s just got even better. Named after Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos Dumont whom Cartier made a watch for, the Santos de Cartier features a square case with curved edges and exposed screws that are unmistakable design cues of this legendary watch. Opposed to its siblings that are not skeletonized, the Santos de Cartier Skeleton is only available in the large size with a case measuring almost 40 mm wide —39.8 mm x 47.5 mm actual size.

One of the most elegant watches in the market at the moment is the new Cartier Drive de Cartier Extra-Flat in 18K yellow gold and its stainless steel counterpart. A watch designed to be worn on every occasion and as classic and timeless to go with a pair of jeans or with a suit and a tie, the new Drive the Cartier is now available in an extra-flat manual wound version in 18K yellow gold, after the success of its 18K pink gold sibling released a year ago.

One of the most iconic and popular Cartier watches from the 80s just got even better. The new Santos de Cartier is now available in two different sizes, the first one, a medium size measuring 35.1 mm x 41.9 mm and the second one, a large model with a case measuring almost 40 mm wide —39.8 mm x 47.5 mm actual size.

There is something very special about Cartier's Mysterious Hours watches and at the SIHH 2018 we were blown away by the new Rotonde de Cartier Skeleton Mysterious Double Tourbillon with the tourbillon appearing to be suspended in mid-air with no connection to the rest of the movement —a clever optical illusion created by Cartier. This new watch cased in a 45 mm platinum case with all of its components hand-finished —including the movement bridges being chamfered, flanks drawn and screw heads polished— is simply gorgeous and one of our favorite watches at the SIHH this year.

Two months ahead of the SIHH 2018 —Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie—, Cartier presented the new Rotonde de Cartier Mysterious Day & Night Watch. Today, we were finally able to check the watch out in person. The new Rotonde de Cartier watch lends its generous dial to two historic Cartier complications: the mysterious movement and a Day/Night indicator. These two complications are part of Cartier’s watchmaking heritage both dating from 1912.

The Rotonde de Cartier watch lends its generous dial to two historic Cartier complications: the mysterious movement and a Day/Night indicator. These two complications are part of Cartier’s watchmaking heritage both dating from 1912. On one hand, the mysterious movement was created for the Model A mystery clock, while the day/night movement was part of the Comet clock a.k.a the Planet clock.

Two months ahead of the SIHH 2018 —Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie—, Cartier presents the new Rotonde de Cartier Skeleton Mysterious Double Tourbillon with the tourbillon appearing to be suspended in mid-air with no connection to the rest of the movement —a clever optical illusion created by Cartier. Additionally, a double flying tourbillon completes a rotation in 60 seconds, while the tourbillon cage performs a second rotation in which each round takes 5 minutes.

The Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Cartier Tank watch just sold for $379,500 USD —including buyer's premium— at the Christie's Rare Watches and American Icons Sale in New York City today June 21st, 2017.  A portion of the proceeds of the sale of this Cartier watch and her “50 Mile Hike” painting will be donated to the National Endowment for the Arts. While this watch not only comes with significant provenance and rich history, Jackie O's Cartier Tank also has an interesting story behind.

Last week, we had the pleasure to visit the North American Institute of Swiss Watchmaking —NAIOSW— invited by our friends at Cartier. This visit that we can refer to as one of the 'most enlightening' days in our watch collecting life, was for sure a day very well spent. The NAIOSW was established in 2008 —education began in 2009— by the Richemont Group with the purpose of educating and training successful watchmakers for a career in luxury watch repair.

SIHH 2016: Presenting the new Cartier Clé de Cartier Automatic Skeleton. Hands-on Live Pictures & Pricing.

The new SIHH 2016 Cartier Clé de Cartier Automatic Skeleton makes its appearance only a year after the Clé de Cartier model was first introduced in 2015. It owes its name to its winding crown, the shape and clicking action of a key inspired by traditionally key-wound clocks, which Cartier now transposes onto the wrist, thus inventing a new watchmaking gesture.

You all know, that we rarely feature ladies' watches here. However, when it comes to this new watch from Cartier, we just had to. This new Cartier Ballon Bleu de Cartier Enamel Granulation in 18K yellow gold presented at the SIHH 2016 Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie, is definitely worth talking about because of the special Etruscan enameling technique utilized on its dial.

One of the most important releases this year at the SIHH 2016 Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie Genève, was the brand new watch from Cartier, called Drive de Cartier. Inspired by automobilism, at a glance, the new SIHH 2016 Cartier Drive de Cartier is undeniably easily recognizable as a Cartier watch all the way from the guilloché pattern on its dial to the blue sapphire winding crown.

The Rotonde de Cartier Chronograph was introduced at the SIHH 2015 Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie two weeks ago and is definitely one of those watches that offers wonderful value for your money. Powered by the same in-house chronograph calibre 1904-CH that powers the Calibre de Cartier Chronograph, this watch offers excellent value for the money.

The new Rotonde de Cartier Flying Tourbillon Reversed Dial is another exceptional creation by the team lead by Carole Forestier-Kasapi. This new timepiece is fitted with a generous 46 mm 18K white gold case, beaded 18K white gold crown set with a blue sapphire cabochon, 18K white gold sunray guilloché dial, blued-steel sword-shaped hands and a black alligator strap with double adjustable folding 18K white gold buckle.
