WATCH COLLECTING LIFESTYLE

Experience: WCL Collector's Evening at Hublot Dallas. An Evening of Negronis, Food and Watchmaking.

Last week, we hosted a special evening with a select group of watch collectors at the Hublot Boutique in Dallas, to spend some time with the newly released Hublot Techframe Ferrari 70 years Tourbillon Chronograph in titanium —which we reviewed here— and to learn more about watchmaking as some of our signature Negronis were served. At this intimate gathering, watch collectors were not only able to peruse the prototype of this new watch released at Baselworld 2017 but they were also able to experience first hand what disassembling an assembling a timepiece entails.

Special thanks to Hublot North America for sending one of their watchmakers down to Dallas to manage the two benches where our watch collecting friends had the time of their lives. Geared up with a limited edition Hublot King Power Unico Dallas Cowboys in black ceramic, a pair of Cuero brown Magnanni double monks and a blue lightweight bespoke sports coat, we made it to the Hublot Dallas Boutique at North Park just as if we were attending an evening of Negronis at Pitti Uomo in Florence.

As the Negronis circled around the boutique and some delicious hors d'oeuvres made their entrance, these select group of watch collectors started to warm up for what would be one of the most fascinating watch experiences they've ever had. As they were literally about to go hands-on disassembling and assembling a black ceramic Hublot King Power, the evening was just about to start. Since the Hublot Techframe Ferrari 70 years Tourbillon Chronograph is a watch that was jointly created and designed by Ferrari, under the leadership of Head of Design Flavio Manzoni, we decided to put on a Scuderia Ferrari F1 racing glove to sip that very first Negroni of the night and honor the team of the 'cavallino rampante'.

As the group of watch collectors approached the two benches that were set at the back of the boutique for our event, the best part of the evening was about to start. Greeted and instructed by one of Hublot North America's senior watchmakers who came all the way from Florida for the occasion, our friends geared up with their monocles and a set of Hublot screwdrivers and tweezers. Luckily, the Negronis were not part of this action.

As the evening went by and the Negronis became a little too many, watch collectors were able to get close and personal with the collection of Hublot timepieces at the boutique but also with the stunning prototype of the new Hublot Techframe Ferrari 70 years Tourbillon Chronograph that was exclusively brought in all the way from Switzerland for our event.

Special thanks to everyone that was able to join us and to the teams at the Hublot Dallas Boutique and Hublot North America that made this partnered event such a huge success. All in all, a perfectly orchestrated evening with our friends from Hublot.
