News: Presenting the UR-Bethune Moon Satellite. A One-Off Signed De Bethune x Urwerk for ONLY Watch Auction.

Expressing the perfection of the celestial order, this unique timepiece is a complex interaction of mechanisms specific to De Bethune and Urwerk and a true fusion of their watchmaking genes. This one-off watch signed De Bethune x Urwerk has been expressly made for the ONLY Watch auction taking place next November 9, 2019. In support of the ONLY Watch biennial charity auction of unique timepieces, De Bethune and Urwerk have joined their creative energies for the very first time to bring a timepiece unlike any other.

From the outside, a case that challenges established norms, fusing the design and function genetics of De Bethune and Urwerk with its floating lugs and the singular vibrancy of mirror polished titanium. Under the hood and curved sapphire crystal, a mechanical universe which amazes us with the one-off URDB01 calibre jointly developed for this very special auction. With its crown at 12 o'clock, a spherical moon phase indicator at 6 o’clock, and Urwerk’s signature time indication with the now-famous satellite window in an arc that evokes the sun's curvature, De Bethune and Urwerk are making history with an incredible ‘watch collector’s wet dream’ unique piece watch.

The De Bethune x Urwerk Moon Satellite is the story of four personalities, Denis Flageollet and Pierre Jacques at De Bethune, and Felix Baumgartner and Martin Frei at Urwerk. A story of mutual respect and implicit trust. The meeting of two ultra-creative and independent watchmaking minds, linked by a longstanding friendship, to donate for auction a truly original and highly desirable timepiece in support of the fight against Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

The Moon Satellite for ONLY Watch 2019 is fitted with a black polished 5 grade titanium case measuring 43 mm in diameter and a thickness of 13.3 mm. Featuring a perfect hybrid of Urwerk and De Bethune watches, the UR-Bethune Moon Satellite features the case shape of Urwerk along with De Bethune’s floating lugs. Fastened by a black alligator strap, the watch indicates the time with Urwerk’s wandering satellite hours, arched minutes, a spherical moon phase indication at 6 o’clock and a power reserve situated on the back of the movement. The calibre DBUR2105 was jointly developed by both brands. This manual wound movement is composed by 336 parts and 37jewels and provides a power reserve of 4 days when fully wound.
