Introducing: Girard-Perregaux Laureato Chronograph Ti49. Using Grade 5 Titanium for the Very First Time.

Girard-Perregaux is pleased to unveil a new expression of the company’s iconic timepiece that burst onto the watch scene back in 1975. The new Laureato Chronograph Ti49 ref. 81020-21-3263-1CM unites the model’s intricately shaped case design with ultra-desirable Grade 5 titanium for the very first time. This is the first time this strong alloy has been featured on a classic Laureato reference. Beyond its strength, this alloy is light, corrosion-resistant and hypoallergenic.

The Laureato Chronograph was released in 2018 two years after the return of the Laureato to the Girard-Perregaux collections. Writing a new chapter in its history with the introduction of an enriched range of chronographs, the Laureato Chronograph made a great debut with its 42 mm case available on a bracelet or alligator strap and with three different dial options for the stainless steel models —panda, blue and black with blue chrono registers— for the stainless steel models. Now, this titanium version is writing a new chapter with its titanium case.

Titanium is a lustrous metal that has a unique dark grey hue —darker than stainless steel— with a very low density making it super light but incredibly strong. Titanium is highly resistant to corrosion and scratches. The new Girard-Perregaux Laureato Chronograph Ti49 features a gorgeous grey dial with a ‘Clous de Paris’ motif, applied markers, and white transfers that make it highly legible and perfectly monochromatic.

The 42 mm titanium case is equipped with a screw-down crown and screwed-in pushers for the chronograph. On the dial, there is a discreet date aperture between the 4 and 5 o’clock markers. The chrono registers are snailed and located at 6 o’clock for the 12-hour chrono, a 30-minute chrono register at 9 o’clock and a running seconds subdial for the watch at 3 o’clock.

The Girard-Perregaux Laureato Chronograph Ti49 is powered by the Girard-Perregaux automatic movement calibre GP03300-0137 which is an automatic movement with a chronograph module. Composed of 419 parts and 63 jewels, the movement provides a power reserve of 46 hours when fully wound while beating at a frequency of 28,800 vph. This movement is finished with ‘Côtes de Genève’, chamfering, and straight graining, all stemming from the multiple skills cultivated within the Manufacture. Unfortunately, the movement is protected by a screwed-in solid case back.

The Girard-Perregaux Laureato Chronograph Ti49 in Titanium is equipped with a matching integrated bracelet in titanium with a triple-folding clasp and the watch is water resistant to 100 meters. The case thickness is 12 mm and the watch is already available through the GP authorized dealer network.
