Insider: Girard-Perregaux Laureato Absolute Infrared. One of the Stealthiest GPs.

To celebrate the opening of their first boutique in China, Girard-Perregaux presented the Laureato Absolute Infrared Limited Edition a few months ago. Today, we bring you our hands-on review of one of the stealthiest GPs out there. This new watch is equipped with a 44 mm case in black PVD Grade 5 titanium and a forged carbon dial with red applied baton indexes.

Things to Know About the Watch

Released in a limited edition of only 88 pieces, the forged carbon dial is yet another first for the brand. To make this dial, they start with fine carbon fiber threads that are placed in a mold, then liquid resin is added to finally subject the mix to heat and pressure. The result is a unique dial where no dial is like the other with its own unique appearance and marbling.

The Girard-Perregaux Laureato Absolute Infrared avoids the use of a sandwich dial unlike other Laureato Absolute models in order to highlight the forged carbon construction even more. Additionally, the applied red markers seem to emanate from the flange bending downwards. A discreet date aperture is located at 6 o’clock and the tip of the hour and minute hands feature the same red glossy material as the applied markers giving the watch an overall very sporty and stealthy look.

This 88-piece limited edition is delivered on a black rubber strap with texture simulating fabric and with red contrast stitching. The strap is equipped with a folding clasp with a micro-adjustment system to guarantee optimal wearability.

The Movement

The Laureato Absolute Infrared is powered by the in-house automatic calibre GP0330-1060 composed of 218 parts. The movement provides a power reserve of 46 hours when fully wound while beating at a frequency of 28,800 vph. A solid case back in highly polished black PVD titanium protects the movement. It is important to mention that while the case back states that this is a limited edition of 88 pieces, the watches are not individually numbered.

On the Wrist & Price

On the wrist, the Laureato Absolute Infrared wears true to its size and comfortably. The watch feels very light and appears extremely stealthy despite the red accents on the dial and strap. The Girard-Perregaux Laureato Absolute Infrared is limited to 88 pieces and a great watch for the money.
