W&W 2024: Tudor Black Bay 58 GMT Black Burgundy 'Coke' Bezel (Live Pics)

The first Tudor Black Bay GMT ref. 79830RB was released at Baselworld 2018 and it was an immediate success. Following that successful addition to the Black Bay lineup, a model with an opaline dial with a galvanic finish followed and was nicknamed ‘Albino’ like the vintage Rolex GMT Master ref. 6542 ‘Albino’. Not for Watches & Wonders 2024, Tudor has released a Black Bay 58 GMT Black Burgundy 'Coke' Bezel. Not a 41 mm Black Bay like its GMT predecessors but a 39 mm Black Bay 58. Why? Well, Rolex and Tudor do things like this to leave everyone wanting more.

Fitted with a 39 mm case in stainless steel, the new Tudor Black Bay 58 GMT Black Burgundy 'Coke' Bezel reference M7939G1A0NRU-0001 is available on a riveted three-link stainless steel bracelet or on a black rubber strap with Tudor ‘T-Fit’ clasp.

The new Tudor Black Bay 58 GMT sports a black and burgundy anodized aluminum bezel insert and a black dial. This new watch is a Master Chronometer certified by COSC and METAS. Powered by the new automatic movement Manufacture Calibre MT5450-U the watch features a GMT function. This movement is different to calibre MT5652 one powering the Black Bay GMT.

The dial features gilded accents as well as the numerals on the bezel giving the watch somewhat of a vintage look; however, we don’t like this combination. This watch should’ve been added to the current Black Bay GMT lineup without gilded accents and in the 41 mm case size. Additionally, this watch is more expensive than its GMT counterparts priced at USD 4,375 on a bracelet.

On the Wrist & Price

On the wrist, the Tudor Black Bay 58 GMT Black Burgundy 'Coke' Bezel wears smaller than its actual size and more like a 38 mm watch. The watch wears slightly more slender than its Black Bay counterparts and the gilded accents on the bezel are quite yellowy in person. Not our cup of tea if we are quite frank.

Sticker Price USD 4,600 on a bracelet and USD 4,400 on a rubber strap. For more info on Tudor click here.
