SIHH 2017: New Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Moon. Hands-on Live Pictures & Pricing.

One of the most iconic watches in the world and a perfect example of the Art Deco movement is the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso. Along with a brand new generation of Reversos that were released last year, JLC brings two new models to this year's SIHH. The new Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Moon ref. 3958420 just released at the SIHH 2017, is inspired by the lines of the original 1931 model and presents a moon phase and date indication along with a dual-time function on the back side. Capitalizing on the principle of reversibility, Jaeger-LeCoultre has developed and crafted movements capable of driving indications displayed on two separate dials and to date, this invention has remained entirely exclusive to JLC. Equipped with the Duo concept, the new JLC Reverso Tribute Moon features a single movement that drives two dials and thus, two time zones. This new watch available in stainless steel with a case measuring 49.4 mm X 29.9 mm, presents a gorgeous moon phase and date indication on the front dial while the reverse side with a second dial, reveals the time in a second time zone. This can be adjusted by using a discreet trigger, incorporated into the top of the case.

The Dial

The new Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Moon features one of the most beautiful silvered dials out there with a grained finish that is simply superb. With a very clean and well-balanced layout, this new Reverso Tribute Moon comes with a highly appealing moon phase indicator at 6 o'clock. Like an opening onto the night sky, the moon disk on this indicator —also entirely hammered by hand— located at 6 o’clock, presents the celestial body's current phase amid a star-scattered vault. A crescent moon, affixed to the end of a thin red hand, indicates the date around the moon phase indicator.

Meanwhile, the faceted applied blued markers along with the blue minute track and blued hands, complete this elegant assortment of horological greatness. Featuring a double marker at 12 o'clock and black transferred JLC logo, the Reverso Tribute Moon couldn't be any better as far as looks goes.

On the reverso side, the second dial features a deep blue dial with 'Clous de Paris' guilloché motif —dial is much darker in person. A day/night indicator shows the sun and moon in full harmony, while a small triangle enables easy reading of the indication.

The Movement

The new Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Moon is powered by the manual wound JLC calibre 853A composed of 223 parts and 19 jewels and which beats at a frequency of 21,600 vph to provide a power reserve of 40 hours.
