News: IWC Pilot's Watch Mark XVIII 'Laureus Sport for Good Foundation'. A Limited Edition of 1,500 Pieces.

At the occasion of the 2018 Laureus World Sports Awards in Monaco, IWC has just released new watch with a case made of black ceramic. This new IWC Pilot's Watch Mark XVIII 'Laureus Sport for Good Foundation' features a blue dial and a special engraving on the case back. This is now, the 12th special edition timepiece released after the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation by IWC Schaffhausen. The new Pilot’s Watch Mark XVIII Edition 'Laureus Sport for Good Foundation' ref. IW324703 comes in a 41 mm black ceramic case and is available in an individually numbered limited edition of 1,500 pieces. Its dark navy blue dial is the signature trademark of IWC’s special editions for Laureus and the watch is delivered on a black embossed calf leather strap that almost looks like a nylon strap.

Powered by the robust automatic calibre 35111 protected against magnetic fields by a soft-iron inner case and a sapphire crystal secured against sudden drops in air pressure, this 25-jewel movement beating at a frequency of 28,800 vph provides a power reserve of 42 hours when fully wound. The watch is water resistant to a depth of 60 meters.

Like every Laureus special edition, the timepiece features an engraving of the winning entry of the drawing competition that IWC organizes each year within the organization’s supported programs. The theme for 2017 was “Time to Be Healthy”, and the jury selected 11-year-old Ana Claudia’s drawing out of more than 1,000 submissions. Ana, who participates in a project of Instituto Reação in Brazil —an organization that helps improve the living conditions of Brazilian children and adolescents through education and sport and particularly relies on judo to convey values such as respect, discipline and determination.

The 'Laureus Sport for Good Foundation' uses the power of sport to end violence, discrimination and disadvantage and proves that sport can change the world. Currently, Laureus supports over 100 programs which are using sport to make social change in around 35 countries. Every program Laureus supports is addressing at least one of the following six social issues, which are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals; Health, Education, Women and Girls, Employability, Inclusive Society and Peaceful Society.

As usual, part of the proceeds from the sales of the new IWC Pilot's Watch Mark XVIII 'Laureus Sport for Good Foundation' will be used to support Laureus Sport for Good.
