Baselworld 2019: Hublot Classic Fusion Ferrari GT. Live Pictures & Price.

One of our favorite releases this year came from Hublot with the new Classic Fusion Ferrari GT. With a completely new case construction where the middle is suspended inside an outer caseband structure that holds the strap and the pushers for the chronograph, this new watch has a slight resemblance of the old Porsche Design ref. 3510 by IWC from the mid 80s. And this is not a bad thing. The new Hublot Classic Fusion Ferrari GT has a lot of substance as well as forward thinking design that brings the automotive world into the equation.

Things to Know About the Watch

Available in 3D Carbon ref. 526.QB.0124.VR, King Gold ref. 526.OX.0124.VR and in Titanium ref. 526.NX.0124.VR, the new Hublot Classic Fusion Ferrari GT draws inspiration straight from the world of Ferrari. The launch of the Classic Fusion Ferrari GT watch with its extremely innovative design which integrates the new Unico manufacture movement in a body with distinctive and dynamic lines sees Hublot and Ferrari write a new chapter in their collaboration. Designed by the “Centro Stile Ferrari”, the new Hublot Classic Fusion Ferrari GT draws inspiration from the GT designed and crafted in the Maranello workshops.

The case measuring 45 mm in diameter seems to wear smaller and extremely well. Without a doubt, one of the best designed watches by Hublot in the last five years. While the King Gold and Titanium models feature microblasted finishing, the 3D Carbon comes in its raw element as released last year for the very first time.

The King Gold and Titanium models feature bezels in the same metal as the cases, while the 3D Carbon model is fitted with a black ceramic bezel. Perhaps, one of of our favorite parts of the watch are the racing Ferrari inspired pushers and crown. The red start/stop pusher brings a nice level of contrast and a ton of automotive feel to this new watches.

Fitted with a sapphire crystal dial, the black outer ring features Ferrari’s ‘Cavalino Rampante’ —prancing horse— at 12 o’clock, a 60-minute chrono register at 3 o’clock with a very discreet integrated date aperture and running seconds at 9 o’clock. While the dial is very nice, the date indicator is hard to see as it is too inconspicuous. Despite the date issue, the dial is very nice and perfectly in-line with the overall design of the watch.

The Movement

These three new watches are powered by the HUB 1280 Unico in-house automatic movement with flyback chronograph and column-wheel mechanism. This marks the first time that this movement is cased inside a Classic Fusion watch. Composed of no less than 354 parts, the Unico HUB1280 is protected by four patents. Beating at a frequency of 28,800 vph, the movement provides a 3-day power reserve. Visible via the display case back, the column wheel can be seen from the dial side.

The new Hublot Classic Fusion Ferrari GT watches are delivered on a black Schedoni leather strap with rubberized backs. The clasp for the 3D carbon is made of highly polished black ceramic, while the clasps for the Titanium and King Gold models are in metal matching the case.

On the Wrist & Price

On the wrist, the watch wears slightly smaller than its actual size. The micro-blasted finish on the King Gold and Titanium references is very ‘satiny’ and matte giving the watches a very industrial and understated look. A great looking watch with excellent design from the partnership between Hublot and Ferrari.

Sticker Price $22,000 for titanium, $27,300 USD for 3D Carbon and $38,800 USD for King Gold. For more info on Hublot click here.
