Insider: H. Moser & Cie. Heritage Tourbillon. When Independent Watchmaking Becomes Artistry.

For brands like H. Moser & Cie. an independent watchmaking manufacture, making timepieces has now become pure artistry. One of the strongest brands within the Independent Watchmaking scene and a company that has proven the Swiss watchmaking industry their prowess and their originality, H. Moser & Cie. is one of the very few companies that strive for real 'Swiss Made' and what this really should entail, regardless of what the 'Swissness Law Ordinance establishes as "Swiss Made" when it comes to watches.

The new H. Moser & Cie. Heritage Tourbillon combines rich traditional watchmaking techniques with modern watchmaking in a wristwatch featuring a double-hunter pocket-watch type case in 18K red gold with a striking blue engraved enamel and studded with diamonds. The inspiration for this timepice come from an old H. Moser pocket watch dating from the late 19th century in the H. Moser & Cie. collection.

The Case & Dial

Measuring 46 mm in diameter and 13.6 mm in thickness, the pebbled-shaped case featuresstunning blue enamel with hand guilloché underneath it on two covers and along the caseband. On the dial side, we put particular attention to the hunter-type cover with guilloché engraving and a diamond set center with 32 diamonds totaling 0.31 carats. The cover hides a stunning white 'Grand Feu' enamel dial that comes with another surprise.

The exquisitely finished 18K red gold case with a pocket watch-type construction from top to bottom is totally reminiscent of vintage pocket watches. The double-hunter case is opened by pressing a integrated pusher located on the crown for both the top and bottom.

As this cover is opened, a beautiful white 'Grand Feu' enamel dial with black Roman numerals is revealed, but the surprise doesn't end there. An interchangeable Moser minute tourbillon at 6 o'clock takes the center stage as the blued leaf-shaped hands mark the hours and minutes.

The Strap

The H. Moser & Cie. Heritage Tourbillon is equipped with an elegant hand-stitched navy blue 'fume' alligator strap with 18K red gold matching pin buckle.

The Movement

Hiding the automatic movement powering the H. Moser & Cie. Heritage Tourbillon, there is a second hunter-type cover also finished in blue enamel and hand guilloché. The beating heart powering the H. Moser & Cie. Heritage Tourbillon is the in-house manual wound calibre HMC 802.

Equipped with Moser teeth for all wheels and pinion, 29 jewels, pallet fork and escapement wheel made from gold and an interchangeable Moser minute tourbillon—designed to simplify the servicing of the watch—, the movement provides a power reserve of 3 days when fully wound. The calibre beats at a frequency of 21,600 vph. The movement and all components are hand-finished and exceptionally decorated including the gorgeous 18K red gold skeletonized oscillating weight that makes this movement even more beautiful.
