Today, we dive deep into the captivating beauty of the Vanguard Tourbillon Rally Maya 2019. Exclusively available in Mexico and in a 5-piece limited edition, the Vanguard Tourbillon is the most special of all watches ever released as the result of the partnership between Rally Maya and Franck Muller Mexico —Raconli Group. A percentage from the proceeds of the sale of these limited edition watches will be donated to a special foundation in the southeast region of Mexico that supports children with Down Syndrome. Things to Know About Watch
Equipped with a Vanguard Racing 44 mm stainless steel case —that wears much bigger in reality— with the iconic Franck Muller tonneau shape, the Vanguard Tourbillon features a vertical satin brushed anthracite dial with Arabic numerals in white, the numeral eight in the shape of the snake from the logo of the Rally Maya, green and red accents honoring the Mexican flag and a red flange with hour numbers written in Mayan.
Prominently displayed at 6 o’clock, the one-minute tourbillon opening features the signature Franck Muller logo-shaped bridge with running seconds indicator featuring a red arrow. The seconds are further indicated by a small flange with green track that surrounds the tourbillon opening.
Rounded out by rubberized calf leather straps in black and green with red contrast stitching, the straps feature the traditional perforations found on driving gloves in order to make them look even more automotive. The strap is very supple and malleable making for a very comfortable fit when wearing the watch.
The Movement
Visible via the display case back, the beating heart of the Franck Muller Vanguard Tourbillon Rally Maya 2019 can be fully appreciated. Powered by the manual wound in-house calibre FM 2001 R11 with a power reserve of 42 hours, this particular movement features a very avant-garde mainplate that is exquisitely skeletonized to reveal most of the components in the movement.
