Insider: Bell & Ross BR V2-94 Military Beige Chronograph. A Watch that Could've Been Worn During Operation Desert Storm.

Inspired by the color of sand and with the look of a watch that could’ve been worn by spec ops military personnel during operation ‘Desert Storm’ comes the new Bell & Ross BR V2-94 Military Beige Chronograph. This new watch that features the same 41 mm stainless steel case construction as the BR V2-94 Garde-Côtes is available with a stainless steel bracelet or with a black canvas strap. The watch is very military looking and the black anodized aluminum bezel insert contrasts very nicely against the beige dial.

Things to Know About the Watch

While not inspired by a vintage model —as Bell & Ross was launched in the early 1990s—, the Bell & Ross BR V2-94 Military Beige Chronograph capitalizes on the current trends and appreciation for vintage inspired timepieces by watch collectors. Featuring a beautiful combination of beige, black and burnt red accents, the BR V2-94 Military Beige Chronograph is fitted with an ultra-domed sapphire crystal and a steel bezel with anodised black aluminium ring. The case measuring 41 mm in diameter —in reality 41.6 mm—, features screw-down crown and screwed-in ‘millerighe’ pushers.

As far as the dial, the beige matte dial is very nicely done and well-balanced with a 30-minute chrono register at 9 o’clock, running seconds at 6 and a date aperture between 4 and 5 o'clock. One thing we love about the date disc is that it matches the color of the dial blending in quite nicely. Both registers are recessed and snailed. Black Arabic numerals and a black minute track complete the design. The central chronograph seconds hand as well as the minute chrono hand feature burnt red accents to ease readability and add good contrast.

The Bracelet

Also available on a black elastic canvas strap with a gold stitching in the middle —for only $300 USD less—, the Bell & Ross BR V2-94 Military Beige Chronograph ref. BRV292-BEI-ST/SST is equipped with one of our favorite stainless steel bracelets in the industry. With somewhat of a vintage design, this very well made bracelet is equipped with a sturdy deployant folding clasp and polished center links.

The Movement

Under the hood, nothing out of this world and while not an in-house calibre, a sturdy movement meant to last and work as a workhorse. The calibre BR-CAL.301 powering the Bell & Ross BR V2-94 Military Beige Chronograph is a very reliable Swiss automatic movement with a 48-hour power reserve. While the movement doesn’t feature ‘haute horlogerie’ finishes, it is still very nicely finished in line with its price point and visible via the display case back.

On the Wrist & Pricing

On the wrist, the Bell & Ross BR V2-94 Military Beige Chronograph wears comfortably but slightly larger than its actual size and more like a 42 mm watch. A great modern watch with somewhat of a vintage look and feel. For the price, a great daily wearer that doesn’t disappoint.

Sticker Price $4,600 USD —on steel bracelet. Deduct $300 USD if you prefer to go with a canvas strap only. For more info on Bell & Ross click here.
