Insider: Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver Green Bronze. A Stunning 999-Piece Limited Edition.

Two years ago, Bell & Ross released the BR 03-92 Diver with a black or a blue dial as its first diving watch within the square-shaped collection. However, Bell & Ross has been making diving watches for more than a decade now. As a matter of fact the discontinued Marine BR 02-94 is one of our favorite all-time diving watches. The new Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver Green Bronze capitalizes on the huge success of bronze cased watches in a limited edition that distinguishes itself from the others through its dial. Bell & Ross introduces an appealing combination that makes two worlds meet with the combination of bronze —the diving industry’s metal of choice– and an olive green dial—mirroring the color of the military camouflage uniform— that works beautifully together, giving it a neo-retro rugged look.

Things to Know About the Watch

The Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver Green Bronze ref: BR0392-D-G-BR/SCA is fitted with a 42 mm bronze case and a green anodized aluminum bezel insert. Its olive green matte dial is very nicely finished with gold-plated applied indices with superluminova inserts and gold-plated skeletonized superluminova filled hands. While the dial and the bezel have two completely different hues of green, the combination as a whole works fairly. However, if the bezel insert had match the color of the dial exactly, the watch would’ve been much nicer.

The screw-down winding crown is protected by prominent crown guards and a black engraving of the word ‘Lock’ and an arrow pointing in the direction that the crown needs to be turned to screw it back in to guarantee a water resistance of 300 meters. The watch is available in a limited edition of 999 pieces and is delivered with a distressed khaki calfskin leather strap —with somewhat of a nubuck finish— and with an additional black rubber strap with a bronze pin buckle.

The Movement

The BR 03-92 Diver Green Bronze is powered by the calibre BR-CAL.302. This automatic movement provides a power reserve of 48 hours and the movement is protected by a stainless steel highly polished solid case back with a beautiful engraving of a vintage diver’s helmet and a wave pattern.

On the Wrist & Price

On the wrist, the new Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver Green Bronze wears true to its size and quite nicely. While its wrist presence is very similar to that of other Bell & Ross square-shaped watches, the bronze case makes it much more interesting. We can only imagine how cool this watch will look after the patina on its case starts to set in. A great looking watch for sure, with an extremely attractive entry level price point.
