News: Presenting the new Armin Strom 'Las Vegas Gravity' Special Edition. Hands-on Review of a Stunning 77-piece Limited Edition for Casino Lovers.

As all of you know, Armin Strom is a brand that releases all their watches in very small limited editions. Only a handful of times, they've released a limited edition watch only available in certain markets, with a special partner or through certain authorized dealers. The new Armin Strom 'Las Vegas Gravity' Special Edition is even more special because you can only buy it through Roman Times at the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and only 77 pieces are available. The new Armin Strom 'Las Vegas Gravity' Special Edition, like all other Armin Strom timepieces in the Gravity collection, is fitted with a case measuring 43.4 mm in diameter and 13.4 mm in thickness. Sporting a satin brushed stainless steel case with highly polished bezel like the Gravity Water, this new watch is very nicely executed without going overboard in terms of the design elements that were added into the mix, to make it 'Las Vegas' worthy.

The Gravity collection first launched at the end of 2013, is the first series of automatic watches driven by the Armin Strom Manufacture’s new AMR13 calibre with micro-rotor —a special movement feature quite common on Patek Philippe watches and now also present in Panerai calibres that allows for a thinner calibre. The dial on the new Armin Strom 'Las Vegas Gravity' Special Edition is composed of a white ring with applied Arabic numerals and designed to proudly display the micro rotor located between 6 and 4 o'clock with running seconds at 9 o'clock with iconic Vegas triple sevens in dark blue with a burgundy outline.

Additionally, the skeletonized dial features a discreet —yet eye catching— pattern featuring an engraving of casino roulette numbers and card suits, that is visible underneath the ring and all over the bridges around the micro rotor and the barrel. The visibility of this movement is made possible thanks to an innovative concept of transmission for the rotor, which remains smaller in size than the diameter of the going barrel.

Fitted with a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment, the visibility of the dial is never compromised by unwanted glare.

The bezel also features a nice engraving of hash marks and the traditional suits associated with poker playing all around. On it one can find a spade, a heart, a diamond and a club. Lastly, at 12 o'clock on the bezel, the engraving of 'Las Vegas' is found.

The watch is typically delivered with a blue hornback alligator leather strap with deployant clasp. The strap is very soft, malleable and extremely comfortable.

The beating heart inside the Armin Strom 'Las Vegas Gravity' Special Edition is the automatic in-house calibre AMR13 composed of 171 parts, 26 jewels and a micro-rotor and which provides a power reserve of 5 days while beating at a frequency of 18,000 vph. The exquisitely finished movement —and we are not exaggerating—,  is fully visible via the sapphire crystal display case back coated with anti-reflective treatment to make things even better. The limited edition information is engraved on the movement itself.

On the wrist, the watch wears true to its size and overall just very nice. This is the type of watch that not only exudes sportiness but also fun at the same time. One thing we love about the new Armin Strom 'Las Vegas Gravity' Special Edition is that is very tastefully done unlike many Vegas/Poker inspired watches out there. Furthermore, the casino gaming inspired engravings on its skeletonized dial are out of this world.
