Insider: Hublot Big Bang Ferrari Brasil Limited Edition. A 75-Piece Special Edition with 25 Pieces in King Gold and 50 in Carbon Fiber.

Since the Rio 2016 Olympic Games are right around the corner, how about we bring you some Brazilian relevant content. While Omega is the official timekeeper of the Olympic Games, the Hublot Big Bang Ferrari Brasil Limited Edition is one of those watches that makes a lot of sense wearing, as we prepare for the most important sports competition in the world. The Hublot Big Bang Ferrari Brazil is available in a limited edition of 75 pieces —50 pieces in Carbon Fiber and 25 pieces in King Gold. Fitted with a 45 mm case, these two Hublot Big Bang Ferrari Brasil pieces are sure to be gone before you know it. What we like about this particular limited edition, is that Hublot did a great job at incorporating the colors of the Brazilian flag into the watch without compromising their DNA or without going too much over the top. By no means we are saying that these two watches are not loud, because they are. However, we feel that the right watchlifestyler can pull offwearing them with no problem.

The Dial

Both Big Bang Ferrari Brasil watches feature a black skeletonized dial with blue applied numerals and a highly contrasting yellow date aperture. While the king gold model features a gold applied Cavallino Rampante —Ferrari's iconic prancing horse— in bas relief at 9 o'clock, the carbon fiber model features the same element but in stainless steel. While the carbon fiber reference features black hands with blue luminescent material, the king gold reference is equipped with brushed king gold hands also with blue lume. The dial, is extremely sporty evoking the construction of a Ferrari super car and its layout is quite clean with a 60-minute chrono register with date aperture at 3 o'clock.

The Bezel, Crown, Gasket & Pushers

One thing we love about these two watches, is the blue carbon fiber bezel and the yellow gasket underneath it. The yellow gasket, gives an extra amount of pop to this watch making it even more appealing to those in love with everything Brazilian. As it is the norm, the pushers are rectangular and the reset pusher features the 'Ferrari' engraving on it. Both watches feature a screw-down crown equipped with a clever safety indicator that alerts the wearer if the crown is not properly secured — a yellow accent is visible on the dial side when the crown is not fastened.

The Strap

Both watches are fitted with leather straps that are black rubber lined and equipped with a titanium deployant clasp. While the king gold model features a blue strap with yellow contrast stitching, the carbon fiber one features a bright yellow strap with blue contrast stitching.

The Movement

Both watches are powered by the HUB 1241 Unico in-house automatic movement with flyback chronograph and column-wheel mechanism. Taking no less than 4 years to develop, the Unico movement is the fruit of intensive research & development within Hublot’s own manufacture. 330 individually hand-assembled components make up this distinguished movement. With a construction that allows the addition of supplementary functions, the Unico movement can be fitted with other complications and modules such as the Flyback Chronograph, GMT or the Bi-Retrograde Chronograph. The movement provides a power reserve of 3 days when fully wound and its five spoke oscillating weight is fully visible via the display case back.

On the wrist, the watches wear slightly bigger than their actual size and more like 46mm watches. Both watches look really nice and sporty on the wrist, with a very unique and eye-catching wrist presence. A watch that for sure will be a conversation piece and attention magnet wherever you go. If you are heading down to Rio de Janeiro for the 2016 Olympic Games during the month of August, the Hublot Big Bang Ferrari Brasil Limited Edition could be a perfect companion. If you ask us which one is our favorite, we'd have to say that the Carbon Fiber model is the one that we fancy the most.
